Picking up the phone, Hee Ji sighed quietly whilst plugging it to get it charged before walking out of the room where she saw the other still speaking Jungkook."And honestly I don't know why I read that crappy book all night. The girl was gone for five years and this guy didn't even search for her? And they broke up just because she was going away? Seriously? Don't people realise that there's something called as long distance relationship?", Lisa ranted about the book that she read recently. She looked so pissed of.
A bad liar, but such a good actor. Hee Ji thought whilst staring at the other, waiting for her to finish.
For some reason the female felt off about her. It seemed like she was trying so hard to hide things and not worry others. And considering that she had literally dumped her meds, ghosted everyone for almost two days and lied about the phone, Hee Ji assumed that she was slowly drifting back to square one.
"I guess I'll go now someone's burning holes to my side", Lisa chuckled as she glanced at the spacing out female.
"Yeh I'll call you back later", she hung up.
"Pack your things you're moving in with me", Hee Ji said once her chain of thoughts came to an end.
"No?", Lisa replied without a second thought.
"Fine. I'll move in", she crossed her arms over her chest, defensively.
"And why's that?"
"I'm worried about you"
"And..?"
"I don't want others to feel the same"
"Are you hitting on me or something? Why are you getting so protective out of the blue?", Lisa chuckled, walking upto her.
"Call it whatever you want, I'm sticking to you", Hee Ji shrugged.
"Suit yourself. You're welcome to stay here but I can't share the bed with you", she joked whilst going to the kitchen- pretending like she was about to grab something to eat.
"I'll bring my things tomorrow but tonight we'll go back to my home, help me with packing up", she tried to persuade her.
"You're really worked up, aren't you?", Lisa came out with two mugs of hot coffee, handing over one to her.
Hee Ji rolled her eyes whilst sipping the coffee, a small smirk etching up her lips as she thought of a comment to reply, "Stay the night with me, I'm okay with sharing a bed with you"
Lisa choked on her drink as the other cracked into fits of laughter.
_
It was past 8 pm when the two girls left the apartment before pulling over at a small diner to grab a quick supper. If it wasn't for Hee Ji's constant bugging Lisa would've denied to eat at all.
"I'll go with whatever you get", Lisa commented whilst slouching back in her seat staring out of the window.
"Does poison work?", she smiled innocently batting her lashes over her cheek.
"Yes I guess?", Lisa played along.
"Okay then we'll go with two regular pastas", Hee Ji said as the waiter withdrew after jotting down the orders.
The table fell silent after that, as the two spaced out in their own world. You could say that Lisa was putting a tough fight in persuading her, but the other wasn't planning on giving up anytime soon.
The food came over and two ate quietly with occasional comments about the pasta and the breezy weather.
"How about we both stay out tonight? We'll drive to the beach and stay at a resort nearby", Hee Ji suddenly came up with an offer.
"You've got all the time to think till I turn on the gas", she added.
"Where did you even get that from?", Lisa spoke whilst chewing.
"I don't wanna go home yet and since we haven't hung out alone in a long time I guess it'd be nice", she replied.
Lisa nodded while giving a thought about it,
It wouldn't be that bad to take a day off from college and get away right?Humming to herself she spoke, "I'm in. I've got few things to get off my mind so yeh"
Surprised by her reply Hee Ji beamed contently, finally succeeding in her try outs to get under her skin.
Shortly after that the two got on road and drove out of the city- along the coast, as few melodies played in the background in low volume. It was a cozy and a comfortable night that they were spending. And Lisa felt grateful towards the other as she was being very much considerate and out going.
It was then, "Do you think that I should get a girlfriend? It's actually easier to vibe with girls than boys", Hee Ji commented glancing at Lisa.
Chuckling lightly, "Maybe? If that's what you want. And since when did you start liking girls?", she added, her attention now fully given to the other.
"I don't know? Ever since I got dumped or became close to you", she smirked again glancing at her.
"I never knew you'll be such a flirt"
"You'll never know doll", she chuckled.
Doll. Isn't that what he used to call me?
A sudden feeling of emptiness crept in turning her quiet again. She didn't like the fact that she was beginning to become too sensitive, however she was in no place to deny or over come it. Mentally sighing, she let herself be as she fixed her gaze out of the window.
The vehicles moving in a blur and the night falling deeper as she slowly dozed off to sleep. Noticing this Hee Ji smiled to herself feeling relieved.
I guess you don't have to worry anymore Jungkook. I've got her under my care so no more worries. She thought.
