Once upon a time there was a beautiful woman carrying an even beautifully baby girl. This mother was way to young to have a child at that age so she did the only thing she thought was possible at the time, she abandoned her daughter.

“momma? Where are we going?” said the little girl looking at her mother with innocent silver eyes.

“baby, mommy is going to take you to a nice little home where you’ll be with a lot of other kids. You‘ll be safer” her mother said. The little girl was still just a toddler and yet she knew the difference between ‘ you’ll be safer’, and ‘we’ll be safer’.

Her mother crouched down until she was eye level with her child.

“ baby girl. Momma wants to come with you but I cant. Remember, I’ll always love you,” whispered her mother before stopping in front of a foster home.

“momma please! I’ll be a good girl! I promise. Momma don’t leave me” the child was crying in frantic sobs.

“I’m sorry Anna but you’ll be a lot better off here than you would with me.” and with that her mother kissed her forehead and whispered a silent I love you. She took her daughter’s hand and placed a locket into it. “ take care my beautiful child”. she said. With one last glance she left.

Anna was standing there crying as she watched her mother walk away.

Suddenly, the foster home doors swung home.

“ oh dear this just wont do.” the woman grabbed the child from out of the cold rain and brought her inside. The little girl could only comprehend little. She was still in shock from what previously happened.

“ little one, what is your name? and how old are you?” the strange lady asked.

“Adrianna Faith Whitlock. I’m 8 years old” she managed to whisper.

The next thing she knew, she was in a room with a bed, a mirror, a small T.V, 3 windows, and a dresser full of clothes. She turned around and noticed a piece of chalk in the corner. She grabbed it and began making a circle on the damp cold floor. She lay inside of the circle not bothered by the musky wet wood smell and that’s when she finally cracked.

“Momma?” she whispered. “Momma? MOMMA!!!!” her whispers became cries and pleas. She cried herself to sleep that night, grasping the locket that was now around her neck, as if it was her only thread of life left. She was dark inside…cold…she was alone.

Now I know what your thinking: ‘what kind of story is that?’

I’ll tell you what kind of story. It’s my kind of story. A story about life…about my life.

Chapter : 1

Beep…Beep…Beep

“ grrr,” I groaned as I rolled out of bed. I looked out of my window to see what the weather would be like as I stood up to prepare for school. Great! It was sunny.

I jumped out of my bed and opened my closet door, taking out a red and black mini skirt, a black tank top that says “Bite Me” in bold red and colorful high top converse and black fishnets and put them on. I went to the bathroom to brush my teeth. I looked in the mirror to reveal my blemish-free toned face. I had black eyeliner around my silver/grey eyes, light black and cherry eye shadow with kiss my cherry lip gloss. My hair jet black and straight down my back.

I grabbed my red bag and skipped downstairs to grab breakfast. I reached for a granola bar and only took one bite, when my phone ringed.

I came to win, to fight, to conquer, to thrive

I came to win, to survive, to prosper, to rise

to fly

to fly

I wish today it will rain all day

maybe that will kinda make the pain go away

trying to forgive you for abandoning me

praying but I think I'm still an angel away

angel away.

maybe that is why I chase strangers away

they got their guns out aiming at me

but I become near when they aiming at me

me, me, me against them

I grabbed my phone and opened the text from my best friend Alexandra- or as I like to call her personally- Lexi. She was the only one I could trust after my mom left me.

I took another bite of my granola bar, when she texted me back.

me against enemies, me against friends

somehow they both seem to become one

A sea full of sharks and they all smell blood

they start coming and I start rising

must be surprising, I'm just summising

I win, thrive, soar, higher, higher, higher

more fire

Kk. On my way.

I walked outside and looked at Lexi. She and I had the same taste in style as I did- outgoing and random. Today she was wearing what would be considered toning down the wardrobe. She was wearing a red silk halter top with electric blur skinny jeans and red heels. The red brought out the red streaks in her hair and the blue, highlighted her sapphire eyes.

“Hey Lexi.”I squeled as I embraced her.

“Hey Anna! ARE YOU READY TO GO TO SCHOOL?!” she asked in a fake hyper voice.

“YOU BET I AM!” I yelled just as enthusiastic.

We jumped in the car and drove to our hell called high school.
