Imagine.
Two children, created and made to protect one of the most valuable and necessary things to ever exist. Two children, who were created with knowledge of what to do, how things work, how to speak, and even how to defend themselves.
These two children, two peas in a pod, and who had known each other for as long as they could ever remember, had grown up without any kind of parental figure.
And as such, what were they?
If they had, had the same parent, that would make them siblings. If one of each of their parents had been siblings, that would make them cousins.
But they didn't even have that.
It wasn't the lack of parental affection that affected them. No, of course not. They'd always had each other to cuddle and comfort, but the fact that they don't, and probably never will, have a true confirmation of what they were supposed to be. . .
It would make them feel forever incomplete.
So, they came up with a pact. They would figure out what they were, but they wouldn't let themselves dwell on it either. They would have conversations, a weekly talk to see if either of them had figured it out.
They would figure it out. They had to.
