I'm freaking out. Having a panic attack. I haven't seen or heard from Garrett in two or three weeks. He's never gone this long. This can't be happening. I don't even know why I'm freaking out this badly. I mean I know he's my best friend and all but he's gone a lot.

I heard mumbling downstairs. It sounded like Gare Bear. I ran downstairs as fast as I could while trying to balance myself. My feet pounding against the carpeted floor. I saw him talking with my parents.

He looked back at me and smiled. He dropped his bags and held out his arms to me. I ran towards him and jumped in his arms. He laughed and put me back on the ground.

"Go upstairs. I'll be right there. Okay?" I nodded my head, he wiped away a stray tear.

I walked halfway upstairs when I decided I wanted something to drink. I started walking back downstarirs and I heard Garrett and my parents talking.

" The resistance is weakening. WE are weakening. We need her to know. She's too powerful for her not to be with us." What's Garrett talking about? I'm so confused.

" We know. But it's too much to take on at one time. We wanted her to have a normal-ish life. She's only fifteen." My mother is going crazy.

"So am I but I know!" Garrett exclaimed. I'M going crazy.

I finally decided to go to the kitchen. I need water. I'm obviously dillusional from dehydration. That's it.

I got my drink and one for Garrett and headed upstairs. I walked into my room and saw Garrett laying down on my bed. I set the drinks down and walked over to him. Once I reached him, I punched him in the stomach.

" Hey! What was that for?" He yelled in pain.

"It's for being gone for three weeks and not calling," I started to raise my voice. " Where have you been all this time? I've been so worried about you and you just come back home like nothing ever happened." I realized that I was starting to rant and apparently so did he because he grabbed my nose.

You know like how some people would kiss yout to shut you up, but he grabbed my nose so when I was talking that it would sound weird.

"You will know when you're ready to know. But can we just forget about this please? For Now?" He seemed like he was begging. I just gave up and nodded my head.

He opened his arms to me and enveloped me in a hug. His chin was resting on the top of my head as he was mumbling into my hair, "How long has it been since we became best firends?"

"Longer than I can remember," I replied smiling as I ran through all of our memories together.

"Can we keep it like that? Being friends since before we could remember?" He asked me, wearily.

"I wouldn't trade anything in exchange for this. What we have is what other people can only dream about."

"I love you so much," he whispered still clinging onto me.

"I love you."

"Rosie let's go get some frozen yogurt." Garrett said in much more of a commanding voice than a request.

"Yea sure Mr. Bossy." We laughed in harmony. I've come to fall for his laugh. It's so melodic.

"Alright I'll pick be at your door in three, two, one." The call was ended as I heard the chime of the doorbell. I slipped into my blue Toms and walked downstairs calling out to my parents that I was leaving.

I opened the door and found Gare Bear standing there with two frozen yogurts already in hand. " Let's take a walk."

"Did you already walk the course or are you saving that for us to actually do?" He laughed again. I smiled.

I cosed the door behind me and grabbed my fro-yo from him. We started walking down the street towards the park. We walked together and not a moment was quiet, except the moment of silence that we had given to Garrett's fro-yo that I "accidentally" bumped into.

As we apprached the canopy Garrett took my hand in his and pulled me towards the swing set. "Okay so I planned this all Rosycakes. For you." I smiled at him. " I've wanted to tell you this since we were thirteen but I could never find the right words to explain what I was feeling."

"Your smile could move mountains. Or outshine the stars themselves. Your eyes. They're my own little universe in this huge world. There are so many people in this world, and I chose you because when I looked into those big bluish grey eyes I knew that I would love you through everything this world threw at us. I will love you until the day I die."

I was speechless. That's the best thing anyone has ever said to me. I love him. A LOT. Wow. I had no idea that anyone could put so much emotion into such little words. I couldn't speak. So I did the best thing I could think of, I grabbed his nose. I thought it would be funnier. But, when it looked like was losing hope I pulled his nose towards me and kissed him.

I love him.

*I'm out of touch

I'm out of luck

I'll pick you up-*

Lego House. Phone. Garrett. I flew across my room like I had wings and picked up my phone.

"Hey babe. What's up?"

"Rosy? Rosy? Rosy? Are you there? Can you hear me? Rosy? Listen, I love you. So much, don't forget that. I love you." I heard a loud thud in the background and Garrett screaming.

"Garrett!" I yelled.

The line went dead and tears poured down. Everything seemed to go in slow motion as I ran downstairs and into my mother. I told her about the call. And then realization hit.

Garrett is probably dead.
