Golden Flower awoke early at dawn. As alpha, it was necessary that she be up before majority of the rest of the pack. Stormy Sky stirred at her side. Since becoming a full member of the pack a few moons ago, he had joined her side as alpha male of the pack, and since then, they had been ruling simultaneously.

No day was perfect. Golden Flower was still figuring out all the quirks of being alpha, and she constantly relied on Moon's Shine her first moon ruling, but she felt she was better getting the hang of it, and many of the wolves had taken a liking to her, which she wasn't expecting.

"It's time to get up," Golden Flower said, licking her mate's ear.

"I know, I know," he grumbled, always the grumpy one in the morning. There was a lot Golden Flower had learned about Stormy Sky since becoming his mate. He only liked a certain type of rabbit meat, he liked to stare at the stars at night, his favorite place to nap was in the meadow in their territory, and he loved his parents more than anything.

Golden Flower rose and stretched out her sore limbs before stepping outside. The sun was casting a beautiful glow over the forest as a new day began. As Stormy Sky stepped outside and joined her, she was immediately met by Quiet Ocean.

"Just sent the morning hunting groups out. If the deer herd is still in the area, we should have a large amount of prey for the pack," Quiet Ocean explained.

"Thanks, Quiet Ocean. Keep me updated," Golden Flower said.

When it came to picking a beta, there was no easier choice. Quiet Ocean had been a longtime friend and a massive supporter of uniting the pack. As soon as she had become a full wolf, Golden Flower instilled her as beta, knowing she would do a great job, and luckily, she had thus far.

As Golden Flower stared out into the pack, she smiled to herself. The pack was kinder these days, no longer judging other wolves for being former omegas or being of dog descent. Silver Snowflake had passed from her injuries a moon prior, and Shining River had mellowed down some to spend some quality time with her daughter, which didn't leave many more wolves who were loyal to tradition.

In the distance, Golden Flower could see her parents rising out of the den to share a meal together. Her brothers were off on a hunting patrol. Feather Wings and Gentle Breeze were heading off into the woods for a morning walk. She even spotted Dandelion Puff having a chat with Small Fox over a fresh rabbit.

With no more omega system and no more prejudiced rules placed on the pack, Golden Flower felt that the Pack of the Falling Stars was a lot happier than it had ever been. Though perhaps the traditional assembly of a wolf pack no longer applied to their pack, Golden Flower felt that the Pack of the Falling Stars had never been ordinary, especially when Maple Leaf and Raven's Wing had showed up so long ago and changed the style of the pack forever.

Staring out into the pack, Golden Flower felt that the pack was transitioning into a new era, one full of peace and happiness. She turned, looking at Stormy Sky.

"Ready for the day ahead?" she asked.

"As ready as I'll ever be," he told her with a smile.
