Beep Beep

I reached out and shut off my 10am alarm. Huh, I didn't remember putting my phone on charge. Simon must have done it. I looked over at the bedside table and grabbed my glasses, noticing a note beside them. It read:

Dear Amy,

I've known you a while through Josh but the last few days I've really wanted to get to know you better. I've booked somewhere for lunch for us to go together. It's quite fancy but not royal fancy. Get ready and we'll set off at around 12:30pm

I felt excitement rush through me and I jumped out of bed, running towards the wardrobe and scanning the clothes hanging inside of it. I pulled out a black slinky dress and red biker jacket and help them up against myself in the mirror. Perfect. I changed and put on my makeup and curled my hair. I looked at myself in the mirror. Feeling confident, I took a deep breath and headed out of my room. As I walked towards the stairs, I could see Simon standing at the bottom of the stairs. He looked hot.

I waited at the bottom of the stairs for Avery. It felt clingy but I couldn't wait for today. Hearing the stairs creak, I looked up. Avery was smiling, walking down the stairs, a pair of red bottomed heels in her hand. She looked stunning. I couldn't focus on any part of her because all of her was perfect. Was I staring? Maybe I should have looked away but I couldn't: she was addictive.

"Why are you looking at me like that? Is it my outfit?" She spoke softly. "I knew I should have gone with the trousers." Her worry broke my gaze as I looked into her eyes. "You look perfect, Avery." I replied as she sat down onto the bottom step to pull on her heels. "Then why did you look at me like that." She avoided eye contact. "Because I didn't realise anyone could look this pretty and hot." She looked back up at me and smiled, slightly looking down. "Thank you." She planted a soft kiss on my cheek, making my breath deepen. Her touch was intoxicating.

"You ready?" Simon questioned as I stood up and took his arm. I nodded and we made our way towards the door, Simon locking it behind us as we walked to the elevator. We walked towards the tube station laughing and joking. The journey was quite long and we sat in a comfortable silence listening to whatever song was on the radio. My hand rested on my thigh until I felt another hand grasp it. His touch against mine felt like magic. I didn't move, I didn't mention it because it felt natural to have his hand on mine. The tube finally stopped and Simon said this was our stop. When we got outside I looked at our new surroundings. I gasped, "Are we in Knightsbridge. Oh my god it's so fancy," I said in awe as I carefully climbed up the steps as Simon held out his hand for me. "Shall we madam?" He asked causing me to giggle as he took my hand and led me into a restaurant.

"Faith and Ethan found this restaurant and recommended it to all of us" Simon spoke as we sat down. "I decided I'd bring you. Because you're-, you're special to me." I took in all of my surroundings: the candles, the fairy lights, the fancy alcohol, the plants. It was a magical atmosphere. The lunch went by quickly, Simon and I laughed and joked with each other the whole time and conversation just flowed out of us. It was so natural.

After lunch, Simon led me on a stroll to the tube station, where we boarded a tube to Piccadilly Circus. The entire ride I sat beside Simon in silence just enjoying each other's company once again. Upon arrival, he dragged me out of my seat and out of the station, onto the bustling street. I hadn't been to this section of London in a while, not since I moved to outer London. It felt like time had stopped for Simon and I as I watched the people around me rush through the crowded streets. "Come on, Avery, this way." Simon whispered as he grabbed my hand and led me through the crowds to a building. It appeared to be a shop of some sort but Simon continued to pull me to the back of the store. After nodding at someone who was seemingly a worker, he led me through a door and up a large stair well.

The door at the top of the stairwell was opened by someone behind it and it led out to a roof top. It was littered with fairy lights and plants. A large egg chair sat towards the edge next to a table which contained a bottle of champagne, a couple of glasses and some chocolate. "Oh Simon, this is amazing." I was taken aback by his efforts. He took my hand once again as we walked over to the chair and sat close beside each other. He poured me a glass of champagne and we cheersed them before taking a sip. I snuggled into his chest and he put his arm around me. "Thank you." I whispered. "Anything for you," he replied causing me to turn and plant a kiss onto his lips.

We spent the next few hours just watching Piccadilly Circus carry on with it's day as we sat huddled together. I was definitely falling for Avery again but how could I tell her.

"We should get home," I said to Avery as it was now 7pm. She nodded and placed her champagne glass down onto the table. The tube ride home was uneventful, she rested her head on my shoulder and held my hands, tracing the veins causing me to flex the muscle. I felt calm. Safe. In love.

As the tube finally arrived at our stop, we climbed off the tube hand in hand and made our way back to the apartment. Avery began to walk towards her room to shower but I grabbed her wrist. She looked at me confused and I leant down towards her, my hand resting on her cheek and slowly kissed her lips. We pulled away our foreheads still touching. "Thank you."

Once we were both showered I decided to stream a little bit of FIFA. Avery sat in the room with me playing Animal Crossing on her switch, giggling when I shouted. The chat became confused on who I was with so I got her to come into shot and wave and I explained what was happening with Josh and his holiday. At around 10pm, I ended the stream and ordered Chinese takeaway for the two of us which we ate whilst watching Soul on Disney plus. When it ended, Avery said she was going to sleep. "Goodnight Simon," she said as she walked to her room to get some sleep.

Avery's pov

It was around 1am. I couldn't sleep. Simon was on my mind. Were we together? It sure felt like it but I couldn't let Josh find out about it. Okay, I couldn't face it any longer. Jumping out of bed I slipped on the hoodie I had stolen from Simon and walked to his room. I opened the door and walked towards him. "Avery? What are you doing here?" I ignored him and pulled back his covers climbing in beside him and rested my head on his chest. "What are we Simon?" I asked him, dying to know the answer. "I mean I really like you," he started. "And I really like you," I interrupted. "But we can't. Josh would be so mad. Not with you, with me." An idea popped into my head and I smirked. "He doesn't have to find out." I said sitting up. "He never found out about us on holiday."

"Okay then. Avery Bradley, will you be my girlfriend?" His words rang through my brain. I couldn't believe he was asking me this question. The question I had dreamed of for the past two years. "Yes," I nodded, leaning in towards him and passionately kissing him. I flipped myself onto him, now straddling him, our lips still connected. His tongue traced my lips looking for entrance and my lips parted allowing his tongue to find my own....
