I jumped out of the car just as it was smashed into pieces. I barely pulled out of the car. I slammed onto the asphault and forced myself to ignore the pain. I managed to roll on to my feet and start to run. I felt my backpack knocking against my back. I started to run towards the store i had just came from.

I felt it following behind me. I did my best to run as fast as i could. I managed to get to the parking lot. But by this time it was empty besides a few cars here and there. I slid over top one of them. I felt its eyes on me. Just a bit longer....i was close ... I could feel safety with in my reach.

I breathed in. One more step. I pulled open the door and stumbled in. I felt the door shut behind me and i breathed heavily....safe...

I looked up at the employee standing above me. She was staring at me. I gulped and stood up. "Um...what time do you close?" I asked trying to control my breathing. She gave me an inquisitive look. I tried to smile.

"11 pm..." She said, she watched me.

She was a tall thin woman with pretty brown eyes and had tattoos along her right arm. It was of an eagle and a tiger. She was wearing a black tank top that had "pierce the veil" on it and black pants with a studded belt. Her hair was pulled back into a messy bun and had short hairs that framed her face. I glanced away before it seemed as if i was the one staring.

Suddenly i noticed another person was in the store. It was another employee. He was tall. I glanced at the leathers he was wearing. He looked like a biker. He was also staring at me. I looked around the store. I heard him sigh and take off his jacket and put on his store lanyard and looked at me again. I glanced behind me to check if it was there. I scanned the parking lot. Nothing....

"So..." The woman still in front of me broke the silence,"why are you back here?"

"I..." I had to think quickly, "decided that i liked a lot of stuff here and i should look around some more."

I was satisfied with my answer...it seemed logical enough...ish.... Her eyes narrowed and i felt the man to the right of me shift to stand up, his eyes still on me.

"So you running across the parking lot and jumping over my car looking horrified was just normal?"

I was in the middle it looking at some shirts when she asked.

My body froze in place. I felt her glaring at me and the man standing still with his watchful eyes on me. I didnt say anything...what could i say...

"Thats what i thought." She sounded almost concerned.
Suddenly the man spoke up. "So what kinda trouble are you in?" He was looking directly at me.

I dropped the innocent act and felt my face turn serious, my expression sober. "Nothing you can help with," i glanced at the woman, her face was neutral, but her eyes spoke measures of the pity she felt for me...."or be concerned about."

"How do you know? Perhaps we can?" She looked me straight in the eye. The man walked closer towards me.

"Shes right...we could help..." He said to me.

"I can take care of myself." I mumbled.

"Judging by cuts on your legs...it doesn't seem so," he snapped at me.

I spun around to face him. "You don't know anything about me, i promise you, you cant help me," i felt a bit of rage come out of me. He didnt seem worried and he didnt seem to care.

"We can call the police-" he said but i cut him off.

"No, you can't," I seethed, "its none of your concern."

He rolled his eyes, "C'mon on, is it a guy? I bet one of your ex-boyfriends is after you."

"What are you insinuating?" I snapped.

"Look at you, your 19? 20? And your telling me that with a face like that your not a heart breaker?" He smirked.

I glared at him.

"Sam!" The woman looked out the window.

I broke my gaze from the man, who i assume is Sam and I saw the beast breathing. His breath fogging up the glass. His eyes were black and his fur dark brown. His teeth jutting out from the bottom. His claws were gigantic.

I took a step back. I looked at the woman who glared at the monster. Wait, shes a human! How can she see it? AND IF SHE CAN SEE IT, HOW IS SHE NOT AFRAID??

I glanced at Sam who was also looking directly at the monster. His eyes narrowed and focused. What in the hell? Why aren't they scared? I didn't have time to think about it. I used my magic to change into my regular clothes and I pulled my sword out.

"Run!" I instructed them. I didn't wait for a response. I sprinted towards the window and shattered the glass at I swung at the monster. It backed away. It must have been three times my size.

Suddenly a tiger tackled the monster and I felt someone grab me. I struggled to out of their grip. What?! I turned around to see Sam pinning me down.

"Get off!" I hissed.

"No," he replied and I turned my head to see knights jumping through a portal to fight off the monster.

"Please, innocent people will die!" I yelled.

"They know that," he replied.

I watched one of the men get tossed aside like a broken toy by the Monster's claw. He roared and I felt the ground shake. I used all my body weight to throw Sam off of me. I ran at the monster and slashed at his face. He clawed at me and I jumped out of the way and into the air. I brought down my sword on his head just as his claws scraped my stomach.

I yelled out in pain as two arms pulled my back. I had killed the monster. It was over... But they found me...

"Oh no, its claws...their poisonous! We need a healer over here NOW!" He bellowed. It was Sam. I saw the woman from the store running over and a tiger right next to her.

I looked over at the body of the knight that was killed. I couldn't save him. I was still to weak....

"We have to get her back," said the woman. Sam nodded and Everything went black.

"Stay awake, princess-"

I felt consumed by the darkness.
