Not Friend, Nor Stranger, Nor Foe

It's easy to feel alone,
When everyone waves farewell

Unrelated but of similar tone,
I lost my mademoiselle

A feeling brews inside me,
Unique but similar to the last

As if I had sixth sensory,
I knew a depression would be cast

I wave back to my lover,
Not a single thought gone stray

I don't wish to find another,
I don't want to wander away

You can take a horse to water,
But you may not make it drink

You can leave a boy a tauter,
But you may not stop him to think

I can sing to you over hills my affection,
But you mightn't hear my call

I can look into my own reflection,
And remember you all in all

Your perfume has stained my nose,
And your beauty my eyes

But Lord as my witness despite your oppose,
My next words mightn't be a surprise

If you may, please oh please do,
Rip out the heart that beats for you

Because then, just maybe then,
You'll understand my love, is beyond that of men

I am not your friend, a stranger, or a foe,
I'm the lover that you never got to know

Maybe I can show you,
A promise that was true

That love is not a word,
But any other is simply not preferred,

Watch you I shall not, watch over you I may
whether it's cold or hot, whether it's night or day.

You may think you've left me
That our embrace is in the past

But I promise you dear, dearly
That our love is meant to last

I won't give up, but I promise you, your tail shall not lead
I will not dictate, for your life isn't of my greed

However I will wait, and follow my gut, that doesn't take me anywhere at all, because every time I pick myself up, I see you and I fall.
