as rue and ayva strolled towards the school, rue was excitedly recounting the events of the previous evening. "you don't understand, ayva. she's so kind," she gushed. "i asked if i could go with her home, and she drove me home on her bike. we ended up sleeping over at her place, and i even helped her clean a wound."
ayva raised her eyebrows and laughed. "that's so gay, dude," she teased. rue's expression changed, and she furrowed her brow in confusion. "i mean, i am gay, so..." she trailed off with a laugh, shrugging it off.
ayva grinned and nudged rue playfully. "i thought you had a crush on maddy, though," she said, curious.
rue rolled her eyes. "oh god, that's history," she replied, shaking her head.
"oh sure, however have you talked anything with billie?" ayva said.
"i haven't talked to billie, why?" rue said.
"just curious" ayva said.
"by the way, have you seen the video circulating on the internet?" she asked, her voice carrying a tinge of excitement.
ayva turned her face to rue, a small blush creeping up on her cheeks. "hmm?" she mumbled back, not quite sure what rue was referring to.
"it's a video of a girl getting fucked from behind," rue continued, a mischievous glint in her eyes. "she looks pretty much like kat."
ayva's eyes widened in surprise and disbelief. "don't be mean and spread shit like that," she scolded, but her sly smile betrayed her true feelings. "but also, show me."
without hesitation, rue picked up her phone and opened snapchat. she pressed a link and turned down the volume before pressing her phone into ayva's face. ayva leaned in to get a closer look, and sure enough, it was a video of a girl being fucked from behind. it was difficult to see her face clearly, but ayva couldn't deny that she thought it looked like kat.
"well, i guess it looks like her," ayva said, her tone thoughtful. "but i'll ask her. if she says it's not her, then it's not her."

rue turned around and flashed a grin, showing her middle finger in a gesture of defiance. "why would i even do that?" she asked, her tone light and flippant. "i'll be back soon."
