"Happy birthday, Director Jeon."
"Have another glass, Director."
"Cheers, sir."
...
Jungkook always appeared to be cold and indifferent, but that didn't mean he was an antisocial person. Although his cool hadn't changed with everyone celebrating his birthday out of goodwill, a few shy actors took this opportunity to offer him toasts.
Meanwhile, Lisa sat beside Eunwoo and ate barbecue silently. In front of her was the massive cake that some of the crew had just rolled in.
"Bottoms up, Peaches." Eunwoo turned and gestured to Peaches after toasting a glass with a few others.
Lisa's tolerance wasn't anything special, but it wouldn't hurt to have a little. She picked up her wine glass, clinking it with Eunwoo's. "Cheers."
"Me too, me too." Wendy hurried forwards. "Nobody's going home until they're hammered, yeah?"
"Sure." Eunwoo poured red wine for the two and some more for himself.
"Eunwoo, you better not skimp on your glass." Wendy warned.
"Same to you. Peaches, you too..."
"Gulp, gulp..."
Eunwoo and Wendy glanced at each other.
Wendy, "You've got some spunk, Peaches. You chugged that down without even saying anything."
"Shut up, both of you. Stop with the chit-chat if you're going to drink." Lisa slammed her glass on the table impatiently. "Full-send it!"
Eunwoo raised an eyebrow in surprise. "Hell yeah, sister!"
Across, Jungkook kept toasting, one after another. His gaze drifted to Lisa, who kept drinking merrily with Wendy and Eunwoo. At that moment, Eunwoo said something to her. Lisa's smile almost reached her ears.
Jungkook's brow twitched. The sight felt uncomfortable, no matter how he looked at it. Strangely, he wondered: Did he make a mistake when casting Eunwoo as the protagonist?
"Jungkook, don't drink more than you can handle. Have some cake to fill your stomach." Yeri brought a plate of cake over. "I had it custom-made. The pastry chef's really famous, you should really try it."
"Apologies, but I don't enjoy desserts." Jungkook replied icily.
Yeri stiffened. "T-Then, you should at least eat something. It's not good to only drink alcohol."
Jungkook didin't say anything. On the other side, Eunwoo and Lisa toasted again. His eyes narrowed, and another glass of red wine went down his throat.
Lisa felt a little dizzy after a few glasses. Her pace slowed and pulled Wendy close. "Hey, what kind of relationship do Yeri and the director have?"
Wendy was reeling from the booze. She turned her head by Lisa's ear impishly, "I'll tell you, but you can't tell anyone else, okay?"
"Oh."
"I was pretty good friends with Miss Yeri back then. She told me that she knew Director Jeon from a long time ago, mm... Like, before he was famous. I can tell that Yeri really likes the director."
"Then, what about Director Jeon?"
Wendy took a moment to think. "You know how the director is, he's cold to everyone. However, Yeri hasn't given up, even after all this time. I know that I definitely wouldn't have lasted very long. You can't tell anyone about this, though. After all, they're both behemoths in the industry, it's difficult to talk about these things..."
