Redemption

Prologue

In the town of Magnolia if you could call it a town anymore. During the war with the Alvarez Empire, Magnolia became ground zero and nothing was left but rubble, even the Fairy tail guildhall was no more. But then the self-proclaimed "Dragon King", The Black Dragon of Apocalypse, Acnologia decided to make an appearance during the invasion and killed everyone who was fighting.... Well, almost everyone. Only two people were able to survive the attack from the dragon. The ones to survive the attack were the Dragneel brothers, The king of Alvarez The Black Mage Zeref Dragneel, and his younger brother The new Fire Dragon King Natsu Dragneel also known as Etherious Natsu Dragneel the strongest Demon created by Zeref. The three powerful beings were having a standoff waiting for the other to make a move.

Zeref was in his godlike form using the fairy heart and appears to have taken little to no damage and Acnologia was in his dragon form with the only form of damage being his left arm taken off by the previous Fire Dragon King Igneel. The same couldn't be said about Natsu, he's been heavily damaged from the fights, he has blood dripping down his forehead cuts and scratches all over his body, but what's most worrying is he hasn't activated any of his dragon forms. He's easily the weakest of the three.

"Face it Natsu, there's nothing you can do now you're powerless" Zeref stated emotionlessly. "Only if you killed me when you had the chance" you can hear the sadness in his voice. He was cursed with immortality for reviving his brother from the dead, and only Natsu would've been able to kill him.

"NO!...I'm...not some.....killer" Natsu exclaimed in between heavy breaths. Even knowing that he's E.N.D. he hasn't changed his morals. He's still a FairyTail wizard, and FairyTail never kills their enemies no matter what. Their current master, Makarov Dreyar who was an old short perverted man, never condoned killing because he always said "Today's enemies are tomorrow's friends".

"Stop lying to yourself Dragneel, you're a killer, a monster, a demon!" roared Acnologia "You're the reason you're the reason your friends are dead, the world's gonna be destroyed and the reason why Igneel died it's all because of you!" With his newly acquired time powers, his plan is to travel back in time to rid the world of dragons and rule with an iron fist. The only problem is in front of him Zeref, he also has similar time powers. His plan is to create a new timeline, but this new timeline never has his family attacked by dragons. Only one of them could use their time powers to change the course of history.

"It's time to end this" Acnologia stated before charging up a roar.

"I couldn't agree more," Zeref said before charging an attack as well. They both fire their attacks at each other using a combination of death and life magic against apocalyptic dragon slayer magic (think of the cell vs Gohan kamehameha). Natsu could only stare in disbelief at the sheer power those two possessed.

'How am I supposed to fight back? I have nothing left in me' Natsu thought to himself. He made no magic left but he couldn't just sit back and watch them do whatever they pleased. He then remembered everyone in FairyTail, Gramps, Lucy, Happy, Gajeel, Erza, Wendy, and everyone else who died in the war. With his newfound motivation, he stood tall ready to fire an attack.

"I will not let it end like this!" screamed Natsu. He then proceeded to ender Fire Dragon King Mode and fire his roar at the two beams fighting for dominance. "You'll run out of power soon Natsuu, just stop," Zeref tells Natsu. "If I run out of power, then I'll borrow some from tomorrow!". With that Natsu roars over Zeref's powers and everything goes white. Natsu's in that void he hears Zeref say "Natsu you might've won that skirmish, but you won't have what you were hoping for, that's just how time works. I hope you'll forgive me, little brother".

Trying to find where Zeref's voice was coming from but passes out before he can find out.

Year 783

Natsu wakes up in a forest after hearing a scream. He runs to the scene seeing Lisanna and Mira about to be attacked by Elfman. He runs in punching Elfman in the face, knocking him out. Lisanna and Mira are shocked that not only knew where they were but also took out Elfman with one punch when Mira couldn't take him down in her Satan Soul.

"Nat..su" the girls exclaimed. Natsu is beyond shocked because he knew this would be the day that Lisanna would've been transported to Edolas. Then everything clicks, the blast was the world going back to the year 783. He realized that he can change everything especially since he knows that Igneel is inside of him and could train him to become stronger.

'Hey, Igneel you overgrown lizard I know you're in there. No response 'Igneel, I know you're old but respond you bastard'. Still no response, Natsu suddenly remembers what Zeref told him before he blacked out. He screams into the darkened sky knowing that Igneel was gone for good and would never see him again.
