Honey's POV

"Welcome to the EE voicemail. If you would like to-"
I jammed my phone into my pocket in frustration. Where could she be? The bus is supposed to be here in one minute and she still isn't here. Just as I am going to walk to the bus stop without my best friend, I see her strolling casually in my direction whilst tapping at her phone. Typical. She's always late and then thinks that she can take her time when she does get there - if she gets there in the first place. I wait for her to catch up and out of the corner of my eye I see a large red thing. Oh for f*ck sake, Imumble under my breath as I shoot Liz a glare. If looks could kill, she'd already be at her funeral right now. Clearly, she doesn't get the message because her facial expression is a mix between confusion and innocence. This time I ignore her. I figured that me getting on that bus is better than me waiting for her so I put my bag over my shoulder and sprinted. I got there just in time and was about to ask the driver a question when I looked up and saw none other than my old land lord.
"Well we meet again Mr Mathews." I spoke trying to seem like I'm phased by his appearance.
"Long time, no see, Hun." he says with a smirking. I get so pissed off when he says it. To be honest it sounds retarded to me. "You must be getting so old that you must not have remembered the fact that my name is Honey!" I snapped back at him. In any other situation I would bite my tongue but he just has a way of pushing all the right buttons. Fortunately, Liz came right at the moment when I was contemplating whether to smash the piece of plastic between us and give him a piece of my mind or whether to smash the plastic and punch him. Knowing how annoyed I was Liz pushed me to the side before I could do anything. I just kept walking backwards glaring at him, daring him to say something to me. And it works. Point one, me.
I walked to the back of the bus and just sat down, not wary that someone was already there. I turned around met the face of a boy with the cutest and messiest brown hair I'd ever seen. Feeling warmth climbing up to my cheeks, I stuttered a response: "I - I'm so," I stepped to the side and took a deep breath, "I'm so, so so sorry! I didn't see you, well I wasn't paying attention actually, and I was mad..." I slowly stopped talking when I realised I am rambling. I continue to blush profusely and I daren't meet his eyes. "It's ok, I saw what happened I get it." he says surprisingly comfortingly. That's when I look up to meet the most gorgeous milk chocolate eyes ever. Unconsciously, I bite my lip. I don't know why I did because I've never done it before.
I move abruptly and sit down a row in frontw of him. Liz has saved me the seat neared the window because she's scared of falling out of the bus. I giggle softly when I remember her telling me that last year. It was so funny because she was hyper on Diet Coke. She was on a 'diet' and was craving sugar. I put in my music and rest my head on the window and looked out. Brambleville was especially beautiful at this time of year with the red and orange autumn leaves dancing gracefully in the wind. I see pretty, thin girls walking to the local academy and I sigh. I've always longed for a body like that and to have the perfect straight, sleek hair of a model. I glanced at my curly, frizzy boring dark brown hair and make a mental note to research dip dying. I was snapped out of my thoughts by the mention of my name.
"Huh?! What happened?! Is there a bomb?! Oh my Lord, I cannot die today! I've haven't had my first kiss yet or -" I am filled with panic with all the possible ways I could die.
"Relax, Lizzy was only telling me your name, Honey." I turned around to find the source of the voice which was none other than the brunette boy I had an embarrassing encounter with. He chuckled and sent a discrete wink my way. Elizabeth was staring at me expectantly. "Liz, take a picture, it'll last longer." I say proud of my wittiness.
"I have a folder of pics of you and I actually wanted you to talk to Jaden." she matter-of-factly.
"Um, in case you haven't noticed I don't know a flipping Jaden, but I love that name." I say with just as much attitude. Yep, I've gone into ratchet mode. "Well you know one now because I'm Jaden." the brunette boy starts, "and I know it's a cool name. You can't be cool without a cool name." I laugh at his blatant obviousness and in return I get a warming smile that sends me shivers up my spine.
"I knew it!" Liz blurts out. Both me and Jaden look at her, confusion distorting our features. "I knew you'd get along well. Honey has been talking non stop about you -" I slap my hand over my mouth and just give Jaden a cheesy smile. Bzz. Looking through my notifications, I see a text from Elizabeth:
Take ur hand off my mouth or I'll lick u!😑
"Yeah right! Like you'd actually do that." I say.
"Do what?" Jaden asks in a cute questioning manner and I give him my phone. When he hands it back a sly smile is playing on his lips.
Suddenly, I feel something wet on my hand and I instantly snatch my hand back. I wipe Liz's spit down Jaden's torso and it's only when I realise what I'm doing I snatch my hand away. I blush so much and take my hand away whilst he chuckles at my embarrassment. I can't even look him in the eye and I see everyone get up so I do the same.
As I stand up waiting for the bus doors to open, I feel a body pressed up against mine and someone's breath against my neck. I don't even need to check who it is because it could only be Jaden. "Don't worry about what happened ok? You can still look at me you know, I don't hate you." He whispers in a soothing manner. I still can't muster up the courage to look at him and a lump forms in my throat but a small smile plays on my lips. I step off the bus with Jaden next to me. "I'm sorry..." I whisper feebly.
"Honey, don't worry about it. It's not the first time someone's done that." I get the hint and start laughing. He's so dirty minded. "I'm really awkward so don't be surprised if I invade your personal space again." I choke out through fits if laughing. Tugging me into a side road, he pins me to the wall. "Your so awkward but incredibly cute too." he says. I put my head down so he doesn't see me blushing put he lifts my chin up. "Stop hiding your face. Blushing is just one of the very cute things you do." He tells me. When I finally gather my self respect, I gently push him off and walk way. "See you around, Jaden." I said and didn't look back but I could sense him laughing and smirking behind my back.

I hope this book will be better than my last one and sorry for those who think this is really long and boring but it would be nice if you told me in the comments. A picture of Honey above the chapter.
