Time passed slow for you, You had been adventuring for so long and had been so many places you could hardly keep track of them anymore.. your skin was warm. Glistening, slightly damp due to the dew in the air. The sun moments from setting, painting the sky a beautiful pink and yellow.
You sheathed your sword into the hilt at your waist and whipped sweat from your forehead and let out an exhale with a proud smirk placed along your lips. Your clothes dirtied and a mess from a hard days work, You did take up guild commissions occasionally when you had the time off traveling because you never necessarily liked feeling stopped in one place.. Slow days always made you restless and you needed to get your energy out somehow.
"I should have only one more commission left now.. I should hurry before it gets too dark though"
You spoke mumbly to yourself occasionally dozing off looking up at the yellow sky then turn to a purple and dark blue. Starting to fill with beautiful stars. As you walked along a dirt path through trees and beautiful greenery. You had only yourself and your thoughts. Your mind could so easily go off on its own adventure and you'd completely forget about everything else.."hm.."
A low hum could be heard through the breeze and trees. sending chills up your spine as you walked, watching the shadows of trees slowly disappeared as the sky became darker by the second. You wanted to get this commission done and get out as quickly as possible.. you had a slightly bone chilling feeling there, and all your nerves stood on end. Almost as if you were being watched but you were too unsure if you were just paranoid or really sensing something. You heard the crack of a branch behind you and you spun around, eyes wide like you'd seen a ghost or some kind of monster.. But no, you saw nothing.. which was arguably more terrifying.. You knew your mind wasn't playing tricks on you. But you continued to second guess yourself. You wanted to be wrong about the slight rustling of leaves you heard in the distance. And the feeling of eyes watching your every move. It gave you goosebumps all over and your breathing became more unsteady
You tried to shrug it off and just continued to walk along the path, going deeper into the forest where only the soft moonlight peaked through the leaves and illuminated your smaller figure. You were not that tall nor that built.. a bit on the petite side. This always causes you to be more cautious of your surroundings because things see you as easy prey much more than they would a big strong dude.
After a few more minutes of painfully nervous walking you reached a little bit of a clearing in the woods where the moon lit up the ground without shadows of the trees. you walked into the little clearing where this commission of yours should of been but all that was found was a horrible overbearing feeling of suffering. It was heavy and it made you feel sick to your stomach, along with the bodies of defeated monsters you were supposed to slay.. you covered your mouth in attempt not to puke at how heavy and suffocating the air felt, your legs feeling weaker by the second as your eyes struggled to focus on how the air just seemed to grow darker and darker.
You fall to your knees trying to stay conscious as your vision starts to go blurry, fading in and out as your hand gets too weak to hold you up and cover your mouth. Eventually you pass out and everything blacks out...
...
A few hours go by and you can hear the faintness of breathing, "is that mine?.. is my breathing really that loud-?" You question yourself in your head in too much pain to open your eyes, your body felt so heavy and you didn't wanna try to move. You could hardly think straight and you had no idea what happened.. eventually you start to come to and realize that you had blacked out... and now you were somewhere else- meaning someone had moved you...
"hn.."
You let out a groan of discomfort and tried to open your eyes. Completely unadjusted to the dark. You were still outside in the forest but no where near that clearing from before. You could tell you were laid up against a tree.. but how,,? You felt confused until your eyes adjusted to the darkness and all you could make out was the slight figure of someone in front of you, maybe.. 5-6 feet away? Visibility leaned over.. leaning on their knees. and golden eyes.. such sharp golden eyes they cold pierce your soul. Intimidating to say the least...
