I'm Kassidy and I'm a Junior in high school. I'm 16 and 5'3 to be exact. I'm not smart but I'm not stupid. I know enough to keep decent grades on my report card, and I know enough to keep me alive on the streets. I live with my older brother and my mother, we are all pretty close.
"Kassidy get your ass down stairs we have to go to school!" Kason yelled from downstairs.
"Why the hell are you yelling? Damn, I'm coming stupid." I yell back. I grab my phone and book bag and jog down stairs.
"Finally. Ya ass gonna make us late like always. And what the fuck is on your body?" He says bluntly.
"Clothes, now shut the fuck up." I say rolling my eyes.
"They look like they painted on. You getting all dressed up for the monkey you call your nigga."
"Kason you always chatting. And he's not not my nigga." I say rolling my eyes even harder. Kason starts walking out the door and I follow and close the house door.
"He's no good. I don't like him. You better not do nothing stupid Sid." He tells me as he starts his car.
"I won't. You know I'm not like that." I say as I hop in the car.
"Just stick to being Kassidy the bitch that cares about clothes and shoes." He laughs as we pull off.
"Kay keep fucking with me." I laugh.
"I'm the one that can drive and got the car though. Keep it up, I'm gonna make you walk your ass to school with a big t-shirt and baggy pants." He says as he glances over at me. I laugh as he continues driving. My brother Kason and I are pretty close. We are just a year apart but he treats me like I'm ten years younger than him. He doesn't like this guy I have a crush on, people call him Dice. Dice and I talk but he never gonna hold me down.
"He's not gonna stick to you." Kason says reading my mind.
"Shut up Kason you always gotta be a pessimist."
"Okay optimist, get the fuck out my car we at school." He says as he shuts the car off.
"Listen bitch you may be older bu-"
"No you listen we maybe at school but I'll still beat your ass." Kason whispers with his teeth clenched as we walk inside the building.
"You skipping the class before lunch with me?" I laugh.
"Of course wouldn't miss spending time with my baby sister for the world." He cheeses.
"Alright see you then." I smile back. He nods and gives me a kiss on the forehead.
"Have a good day." We part our ways and go to homeroom. I make my way to homeroom while texting, until I'm walk into someone. I look up and see Dice.
"What's up Kassidy?" He asks while cheesing at me and looking in my eyes. I giggle.
"Don't say anything stupid, don't say anything stupid." I think to myself.
"Uh, nothing much was on my way to homeroom." I say with my black stiletto nail pointing to my homeroom.
"Well how about I skip homeroom and go with you. I'm sure Ms. Allen won't mind." I shrug and start walking to homeroom. I open my locker and throw my book bag in. Its not like I'm gonna really need it. I make sure I got my phone and look at myself in the little magnet mirror hanging.
"Come on you look fine." Dice scuffs as he leans against the lockers.
"Listen I have to make sure. Y'all niggas won't even tell y'all own friends when they got boogers in they nose. So I can't trust y'all." I explain as I close my locker.
"I'm not lying though."
"Whatever Dice stop sweet talking." We both walk into the classroom, greet Ms. Allen, and sit.
"Me? Sweet talk? Never." He says. I sarcastically laugh.
"That's very funny."
"Like yo face." He says a little upset.
"Nigga is you mad?" I question while laughing. He pops his collar and gives me the cold shoulder.
"Alright be childish." I say as I roll my eyes. I pull my phone out and start replying to some people.
"Who you texting?" I hear Dice ask over my shoulder.
"Why you worried you not my nigga." I say with a lot of attitude.
"I know I'm not but I want to be." He says as he kisses my neck.
"No Dice. You're everyone's nigga and I can't be bothered." I say honestly. He kisses his teeth and gives me the evil eye. He can't be mad cause he be fucking with mad girls.
"Whatever man I talk to you when you not acting up like one of theses hoes." He says as he gets up. I ignore him and watch him as he walks out the room. I'm not even mad he compared me to his hoes cause I know by the end of the day he's gonna apologize. I just get back on my phone and pray the day goes by faster.
