Hello! Thanks for reaching the end of A Misty Path! It's been a wild ride, filled with ups and downs and really really deep downs, but overall, it's been fun working on this project and I hope you enjoyed!

Now, AMP has issues. Many issues. I wrote it when I was still inexperienced with writing and made up most of the story as I went, thus the many plot holes you surely noticed. I'm a bit better at writing nowadays but even when I returned to AMP after its hiatus, there were many things I either forgot about, chose not to include or otherwise didn't know what to do with, and that made for a pretty sloppy story if we're being honest. These issues, while they bother me, can't really be fixed without rewriting the whole story.

Which is why... I will be doing a rewrite!

I know I said I wouldn't be doing any more Warrior Cats stories after this (I have grown out of the fandom, and you can probably tell in the latter half of the story that I'd completely forgotten all about the lore of Warrior Cats) but in the end, I have decided to rewrite this story again, fix it up, remove some of the unnecessary gunk and try to condense it into a more coherent narrative. I don't know when that'll actually come out - it could be in a couple days or a couple months... (or a couple years) - but it'll come. Eventually.

I know the characters were pretty bland (seriously, can you think of a distinct personality for any of the characters except for brat, jerk or meh?) and the story was... comprehensible at best, but hopefully that'll be slightly mended in the rewrite (hopefully. Maybe. Look, don't get too hopeful for me, I said I was better at writing, not good at writing). Feel free to leave constructive criticism if you think the story was a complete cesspool. Or if you didn't (unlikely, but pop off, I guess). Do it anyways. If you want.

The revamp, as it were (haha, see what I did there?) isn't the only thing I've got planned though. Every now and then my brain actually decides to work and pumps out idea after idea, and sometimes I actually bother to mould those ideas into a story. Like I said, these won't be Warrior Cats fanfictions (they might not be fanfictions at all, who knows) so other than the revAMP, if you came for Warrior Cats stories (like you probably did, because - um - this is an Author's Note in a WC fanfic) then, uh... sorry. (I also started writing another AU when my brain was what I can only describe as not-actually-drunk drunk and sleep-deprived, for a certain extremely-popular Minecraft RP fandom that I may or may not have seen like two videos of on YouTube and gotten totally obsessed with and I'm kinda embarrassed to admit it but I will not be elaborating further on that fandom right now *cough* Dream SMP *cough*. Dunno if I'll ever post that here, but thought I'd warn you in case I did.)

Y'all can go now, there's nothing else I needed to tell you, but for those who got confused because I didn't really explain everything well, here's a "brief" summary of AMP by someone who never bothered to reread her story (accompanied by some trivia because like I said this is going totally off of my memory and as I mentioned before this was made mostly in my head with minimal notes so I did cut out a lot of stuff):

So one day Mistkit is born in RiverClan (woo-hoo) to Cloudpool and Beetleshell (side-note because I saw a lot of people getting confused: Mistkit is the first kit born in a couple years in RiverClan (fun fact, Frostspike and her littermates were the last kits born, and Frostspike was a queen before Mistkit was born, so there was a big time gap. I know, realism is quaking in the corner I locked it in) but other kits were born after her, she's just the oldest. Sandpaw, Mudpaw and Speckledleaf are all about a moon younger than her, and Mossystone and his gang are about three moons younger than her, which is why she becomes an apprentice before them. Unsurprisingly, this whole "first kit in years" thing is pretty much guaranteed to be cut from the revAMP. As well as the whole quirky "ooh I've got heterochromia but that's creepy *cue dramatic music*" because yeah, I was cringe like that when I made this. Don't judge me. I judge myself enough.
