Even for a late August night, Michigan never seemed to get any warmer than fifty degrees, and it was a rare phenomenon if it even got that hot.
Still, no matter how cold it could get, James always had a back-up plan for staying toasty warm.
And the plan's name was C.J. Jackson.
As sweat rolled down his face, James kissed C.J. one last time on his chest, being sure to caress C.J.'s nipple with the tip of his tongue, before sitting up on the king-size mattress that he and his boyfriend shared. Flinging his legs over the side of the bed, James stood up and unashamedly walked across the room to reach the walk-in closet door that was set at the opposite end of the room.
Rolling over to see where James had disappeared to, C.J. spotted James exiting the closet with nothing in his hands apart from a washcloth and towel. James stopped, grinned broadly at his boyfriend, bounced his still-hard manhood up and down a few times, and then continued on to the master bathroom.
"Mmmm, James! How the hell do you get me horny all over again and we just got done fucking the hell out of each other?" called C.J. as the shower started running.
"I don't know, babe; maybe you're just too easy to get," replied James.
Surprised at the smart-ass response, C.J. bolted off the bed and cornered James inside the shower, in the same way that he had done four and a half years ago when they had first made love.
"What'd you say, love? 'Cause to me, it sounded as if you said, 'Come and find out,' but maybe I'm just hearing things. What do you think, James?"
Rolling his eyes at the sarcasm and at the pressure that was being applied to his already-stiff cock, James managed to groan out, "Chris, really; not right now. I gotta be clean for work."
Scoffing at the pompous statement, C.J. blurted out, "Work? James you own the business with me; why the hell do you want to go to work?"
"Someone has to pay the bills."
Letting that marinate for a while, C.J. finally asked, "Hey, baby? What do you want to do for your birthday this year? You only have a few days left to figure something out, you know?"
"Do I have to do something for my birthday? You know that I despise that day above all the other days of the year."
"Babe, I know that you don't have the very best track record when it comes to your birthday, but I mean, after all, it was the day you were born," C.J. whispered softly, lovingly, in James' ear as he stroked James' drenched golden hair. "Besides, these past four birthdays should have already eclipsed everything bad that happened to you before meeting me."
Done with his shower, James stepped out and began to dry himself off, but C.J. took the towel out of his hands and started to dry James off himself.
"I've got the perfect idea!" C.J. exclaimed suddenly, just as he began to dry James' still-erect penis. "We can move away to someplace cool, like Hollywood. You've always wanted to live in California."
"I don't kn- oh! Umh! Oh!" grunted James as C.J. began to deep-throat him.
This went on for another hour or so, then C.J. tapped out, too exhausted to continue.
"So it's settled, then; tomorrow we set off for Hollywood!"
Wiping his mouth where some of C.J.'s semen had dribbled out, James sat up and gave in.

It was a bright, clear day in Detroit the following morning, and as planned, the boys were about ready to set off for Los Angeles.
C.J. was bouncing off the walls, impatiently waiting for James to finish packing what few belongings he possessed.
But for some reason that he just couldn't identify, James felt that he shouldn't go to Los Angeles with C.J.; suddenly he wanted nothing more than to stay right where he was, in the only city he'd ever called home.
James stood up, packed and ready to leave, but suddenly he was smacked in the face by a wave of apprehension and foreboding. He quickly sat back down, chagrined that he was having such feelings of mistrust about C.J., the man that had loved and taken care of him for years.
In James' eyes, Chris Jackson was the best thing that ever happened to him. Without C.J., James might still be attempting to survive on the streets on his own. That is, if he wasn't dead. C.J. was the man that had made James accept the fact that he liked other dudes; James had known that he was gay for at least three years before his father died; he just didn't want to face reality.
So, stuffing these bittersweet thoughts into a minute crevice in the back of his mind, James closed his suitcase and left his and C.J.'s master bedroom behind.
Reaching the hallway, he continued to navigate his way through the cramped apartment towards the front door. "Baby, where are you? I'm ready to go," hollered James as he tugged the overstuffed suitcase through the tiny doorframe.
C.J.'s response was light and playful. "About damn time! For a second there, I thought that you had changed your mind!"
Coming around the corner of the complex's outer hallway, James ran into C.J., who was smiling from ear to ear. Reacting swiftly to the collision, C.J. caught James before he hit the ground, then he leaned forward and gently pressed his lips to James'.
"Mmm... C.J., you know I love you, right?" James asked his boyfriend after their kiss.
"Of course I know that, love; that's why I've been with you for so long."
Thinking carefully about how to best phrase his next question, James said hesitantly, "And... um, you... you love me, too, right?"
For a second, James could have sworn that C.J. was going to strike him across the face. But then the moment was gone and he heard C.J. reply, "Obviously, James; otherwise I would've left you in the alley that I found you sleeping in."
And at that moment, James felt as if he could do anything in the world. It was a major relief to know that he wasn't just in this by himself, but that his love was actually reciprocated.
Worries now gone, James yelled, "Now let's go to Hollywood!"
