Chapter One

Vanessa sighed and rolled her eyes as she heard the metal door open. "Number one time to eat," the soldier hissed before grabbing Vanessa by the back of her shirt and dragging her out of the room. Sour Patch, Vanessa's cat, followed behind while making sure to stay close to his owner. "Whoa there pretty boy. I was going to get up but hey if you wanna be rough then why don't we go back to my room and ruin my neat bed." She laughed and looked at the soldier "Now handsome why don't you lemme go so we can get at it in the bed" she winked and rubbed against the soldier.

He sighed and let her go "I am not falling for that again number one." Vanessa pouted "Fine then me and Rory can have a go together" she winked "If you want you can join us pretty boy." She chuckled and started moving down the hall "Common if you don't walk with me people are gonna think I beat you up and escaped again!" she yelled as she walked away.

The soldier, Daniel, rushed after her knowing that if he let her walk alone, he most likely would have been fired. He walked behind her a hand on his gun as she let her cat climb on her shoulders. He shivered as he looked at the cat who glared at him with mismatched purple and green eyes. He quickly looked away and kept walking behind Vanessa keeping a eye on her and making sure she didn't do anything dumb though chances are she would have no matter what. As they walked she kept looking back at him and smirking. "Number one why are you doing that?"

Vanessa spun around and started walking backwards "Well it's just that Callista doesn't like where your standing" she giggled and spun back around "Oh also Victoria thinks you look even hotter in that uniform." She looked over her shoulder and winked as she started skipping head.

Daniel sighed, if Callista and Victoria were making suggestions then that meant Vanessa would have to be put back in solitude. If he put Vanessa in solitude then he wouldn't have the chance to help her get out, as they both planned. He groaned and ran a hand through his hair, as he walked closer to her he leaned down into her ear. "Don't mention them like that out loud or fuck knows what is going to happen now act like I told you to stop skipping and glare at me like you hate me!" he whispered as he harshly grabbed her arm and pulled her to a stop.

"OW!" Vanessa yelled and jerked her arm away. She spun around and pushed him against a wall "Don't tell me what to do!" she hissed her blue eyes turning a hazel green. "Now let me walk you little ass" she let him go and started walking forward.

Daniel jogged after her and kept a hand on his gun. "Well that was a over reaction number one." He rolled his eyes and watched as she got the the cafeteria and went to get her food. He stood by the doorway and kept a eye on all of the experiments one through twelve.

Number One was Vanessa with the ability to change into six people, she was found first.

Number two was Rory, he had the ability to see people's true selves and their real intentions.

Number three was Robin, he was able to talk to animals and turn into them.

Number four was Rose, she could control the elements

Number five was Nate, he could control the spirits of the dead and speak to them as well

Number six was Kayla, she could mimic anyone and control others with just a few words

Number seven was Charlie, she had the ability to control the night time

Number eight was Percy, he could control ice and the cold

Number nine was Sophie, she could control fire and heat

Number ten was Jack, he could do anything with the snap of his fingers

Number eleven was Asia, she could control plants

Number twelve was Joshua, he could use any weapon no matter how damaged it was.

Daniel watched them all and made a mental note to be careful for now on since security was being increased around the twelve when there was more then one in the room. As he watched Vanessa sit down next to her friends, he ignored the new soldier standing besides him who couldn't shut up. After a while he got tired of the newbie and glared at him "Shut up you don't talk while on duty or you tongue gets cut out!" he hissed. The newbie shut his mouth with a look of fear in his eyes.

Vanessa turned to look at Daniel when she heard him speak and laughed. "Looks like Danny boy found a new friend" she smiled and turned back to her friends.

Robin scoffed "How do we know he isn't going to turn us in for a promotion," the red head asked looking at the rest at the table and picking at his vegan meal.

Rory rolled his eyes "Because he's all yellow and pink around Nessa which if I remember right means happy and in love...though then again Nessa totally could have pulled a Amelia on him to make him act like that"

Vanessa sighed "Why in the name of hell would I have Amelia do that...she's fucking mental." As soon as she said that she slapped herself and sighed "Sorry Amelia" she muttered.

Joshua laughed "I think she's awake in there Nessie" he smiled and rubbed Vanessa's red cheek "Why don't you not insult Amelia."

Vanessa glared at the three "I didn't pull Amelia on him and no I will not be nice to her"

Charlie shook her head "Er Nessa it may as well be best to not make her mad seeing as if you do she could ruin everything"

Rose nodded, her mouth stuffed with food, a few minutes later she swallowed her food and looked up "I agree with Charlie, if you make her mad she could literally ruin your life with just a word.

Vanessa rolled her eyes "Fine I won't make Amelia mad, but it isn't my fault she can't handle a simple truthful joke!"

Kayla raised her hand "Alright everyone let's just finish eating so Vanessa can get back to practicing her switches"

Once Kayla spoke everyone stopped talking and began eating since Vanessa and her ability were the only way they could get out.

Daniel watched the group quiet down and made sure to keep a eye our for a sign of Vanessa's switches. "Alright newbie you see the blonde with the changing eyes? When it's your shift you always keep a eye on her."

The newbie looked Vanessa up and down and smirked "Why?"

"Because one she can break every bone in your body, two her ability allows her to turn into other people and if she does that everything will go to hell, and three...she will seduce you and get you to sleep with her...you wouldn't be the first either" Daniel replied curtly. "Now what did you say your name was?"

"Payner"

"Nice name...hope you have fun with whoever you get assigned to" Daniel watched as Vanessa finished her food and put her tray up.

"Well well looks like the hottie is walking up to us" Payner smirked and looked at Vanessa

Vanessa's eyes turned dark grey "Don't objectify me newbie...last time I checked you were not on my screw list...and it tends to be very long...now Danny boy I would like to go back to my cell and finish the book you interrupted" she hissed and started walking out the door.

Daniel sighed "Number one! Stop right there!" He followed her down the white hallway as she ran down the hall with a laugh.

"Why don't you try to catch me handsome!" Vanessa turned around and ran backwards.

Daniel froze as she hit a wall and fell. He quickly started moving again and rushed too her. "Crap" he muttered picking her up as she changed shape.

Soon enough he was holding a Latina with black hair who clung tiredly to him as he walked her to the infirmary "Izabel please don't fall asleep" he murmured under his breath. He watched as her grey eyes fluttered open and closed. "Mhm sleep...oh that sounds quite amazing" she muttered quietly.

Daniel shook his head "No, please you seven do not need a concussion."

Izabel laughed slightly "We have had worse"

The two made their way to the infirmary across the building. Once they got there Daniel looked down and cursed under his breath, Izabel was asleep and it looked like she wasn't going to wake up anytime soon.
