Valentine Date with Gloria

On Valentine's Day you usually have no one to be your special one. Before a day at work at your daycare job. You always admired that cute purple barista girl, who you were dying to get to know. Now this is your chance! Go find your girl and make her yours! You plan to meet up at Big City's Community Valentine's Day dance. You were so excited you for your date, but also extremely nervous... What if she doesn't like the way you dance? What if you can't dance! These thoughts flew around your head all day, but your hunger for your search of love made you keep going. You opened the gymnasium doors to a big crowd. With it being decorated in cheap, cheesy, pink and red hearts. You admired how close the community was to keep throwing this all year round. You look around for that girl of your dreams. Unfortunately, you can't find her... You start to panic and head to the food table to get some punch to forget about thoughts like that. But something else caught your eye, delicious green vegetables. You always buy your stuff fresh, you're a real salad person, and maybe on a diet to impress Gloria. You start to stuff your face with ranch and broccoli. "Oh hey there! Like what you're eating?", It was a big yellow man with a suit and a red truck cap. "Yes! I love broccoli!", you replied. "Aw shucks! I grew them myself.", he blushed a bit. He looked familiar, but you can't recall a time where you've met him before...

"You did? I don't see many farmers in big city!"

"oh yes! I'm the owner of Green Family Farms, Bill Green, we grow our crops here at Big City."

"Y/N, nice to meet you Bill!"

"Hmm, I think I've heard of that name before..", then it hit you. That's the man whose the father of that wild child Cricket Green! He is always at the cafe to check on his son.
"Hey are you that man with that kid Cricket??"

"Oh yea! My son cricket! You've heard of him?"

"Heard of him? He's been terrorizing my date, Gloria! It's honestly really funny what he does sometimes."

"Oh yea he's a jokester! Sometimes a big handful!",He chuckled, you found it comforting. You seem at peace with this, Bill Green. You don't know why but he seems just like a person to talk to anywhere! Not like with Gloria, you always worry around her and don't know what to say! Maybe it's just jitters...

"Oh yea you know how children are!"

"Oh? Do you have any kids Y/N?"

"None of my own! I work at a day care."

"My goodness, you must be stressed a whole lot"

"No it's not that big a deal, I'm really great with kids.", you two talked almost all night. You never wanted to leave him, just as you were about to leave you came chatting up another topic. "So Bill, do you have any dating advice?", you asked him. "Y/N, take them to a fancy dinner date, with the fanciest food, and the most romantic music!", he answered confidently. That was the most cliche thing of all time, Gloria would never like that! Maybe.. Dinner did sound great...
But she never wanted to go with your ideas with dates...it bothered you a bit...
Maybe, the whole time you were trying to impress her but seems like almost nothing was getting to her. You two started out as friends,

maybe that's the way it should stay.

You start to care less and less about Gloria, sadden by this intrusive thought, you head home. But not without staying goodbye to that nice, cute, farmer dad<3
