Isang linggo na ang lumipas mula noong pinayagan ako ni Jewel at ng mga kuya niya na ligawan siya. Sa loob ng isang linggong panliligaw, tanging pagtulong lang sa modules ang request niya sa'kin.
Just like today, we're here at her study room separated from her bedroom. She asked me early in the morning if I can be with her just this morning, she's asking for some help regarding with her research paper. Mabuti na nga lang at wala kaming online class sa araw na 'to maliban sa mga iniwan na activities, but I'm already done with those.
“Sir! Ay, I mean Yuri. Sa tingin mo tama bang nag-individual ako sa research na 'to?”
I put down her scratch papers beside the printer and went to her side. “Tama lang naman. You said you can handle it alone, right?”
She nodded twice and faced her computer again.
I really thinks that it's fine since their research teacher only needs the chapter one to three. And according to Jewel, she's not yet ready to be in a group nor to socialize with her classmates that's why she chose to do the research alone. Research proposal pa naman ito, 'yon nga lang ay kailangan pa rin tapusin by the end of their quarter for defense.
“Yuri! Na-send ko na sa kabilang computer ang chapter one to three nitong research ko. Okay lang ba na ipa-check ko sa'yo? Like kung may errors ba o may kulang.”
I smiled and pinched her left cheek, “Oo naman. Kaya nga ako nandito 'diba?”
“Yey! Thank you!”
I went to the other table where another computer is placed. I immediately checked the three chapters of her papers and read it carefully. So far, there are only minimal errors.
It's almost lunch time but she's still working with the chapter five. Ang sabi niya ay gusto niya itong matapos ng isang bagsakan lang kaya nag-conduct na rin siya ng survey online. Mula sa kabilang table ay pinanood ko lang ang seryoso niyang mukha na nakaharap sa computer. She's wearing an oversized shirt paired with a denim short, her hair is in ponytail and her long bangs are clipped with a kuromi hair clip. I smiled a little when she turned her gaze at me.
“Ganda ko 'no kahit stress? Hahaha!”
Yeah. Maganda pa rin siya kahit may eyebags na dahil sa pagpupuyat. Hindi ko inalis ang tingin sa kaniya at muli naman siyang lumingon sa'kin. She winked at me!
Woah. I think my cheeks are burning. What the hell? I can't help but to smile again. Ibinaling ko na lang ang atensyon sa cellphone at nag-message sa group chat namin.
