It's been months since Louis was caught cheating.
Louis didn't blame Eleanor. He only blamed himself.
He lived in the same house, hoping that Harry and Evelyn would come back home.
One Direction was still together of course, but they were all taking a break.
The living room and kitchen were scattered with a mess. Empty bottles and cans of alcohol lay on the floor. Some on the counter.
The alcohol... it wasn't helping. Louis had even turned to drugs a couple of times. He stopped with the drugs, though Louis considered himself an alcoholic.
Louis still kept in touch with Eleanor. Louis had learned his lesson, but that doesn't mean he can't hang out with her. She's the only one that isn't angry with him.
Evelyn isn't angry, but she misses Louis. She still doesn't understand what happened between her fathers. Louis had even missed Evelyn's birthday. Harry isn't letting the older boy near their daughter.
Louis plugged his earbuds into his ears and tuned out the terrible world he was living in. He shrugged on a light jacket and stepped outside, locking the door.
He even left a note for Harry if he came home while Louis was gone.
Louis blared music in his ears, walking down his front steps onto the sidewalk.
He walked in no particular direction and thought about how bad his life has been.
Louis sighed before noticing the park.
He walked across the street to where the park was and entered it.
He found a park bench and sat, looking at all the children playing on the playground, looking happy. There were some teenagers as well, either just walking and talking or on the swings.
A teenage girl approached Louis and joined him on the bench. She smiled and said, "Hi, Louis."
Louis pulled out his earbuds, "Hi," Louis forced a smile.
"My name is Zoey. My mum is a big fan of One Direction and I am too," Zoey looked excited, "I'm 17."
"Hi, Zoey. I'm Louis, but you probably know that already," Louis smiled again.
"Can I have a picture?" Zoey said, holding her phone out, waiting for a response.
Louis nodded before she clicked on the camera app and snapped a photo.
"Thank you so much, Louis," Zoey said, "You mean a lot to my mum and I."
"I'm glad to hear it," Louis looked happy. At least he could help some people.
"Are you okay?" She asked after there was a little bit of silence.
Louis nodded, but he knew that his mood was obvious.
"What's wrong?" Zoey asked, actually seeming to care.
"Harry isn't talking to me anymore," Louis opened up, "He hates me."
She frowned, "I'm sure he doesn't hate you.. He's probably just upset and angry. Why would he ignore you in the first place?"
Louis swallowed hard, "I did something I'm not proud of."
The fan just nodded.
"I have to leave," Louis said before standing up.
Louis and Zoey hugged before Louis said goodbye, put his earbuds back in, and walked down the sidewalk that trailed through the park.
Louis walked past the playground and saw a familiar face. Evelyn was playing with the other kids. She looked very happy.
Louis smiled, but she couldn't be here alone could she?
Evelyn turned around, gasped, and ran to Louis, enveloping him in a huge hug.
Louis took out his earbuds and smiled.
"I missed you so much, Daddy!" She said, kissing Louis' cheek.
"I missed you too, baby," Louis said, hugging her tightly.
"I want to come home," Evelyn said.
"I want you to too," Louis said, pulling away and looking at her.
"Is your dad here?" Louis asked.
She nodded, then pointed to a bench where Harry was sitting. He was on his phone, looking as if he was in the middle of a good book.
Louis held hands with his daughter and they walked towards Harry together.
"Hello, Harry," Louis greeted.
Harry looked up, then locked his phone.
He didn't say anything.
"Fancy seeing you here," Louis said, sitting down next to Harry but still keeping his distance.
Harry nodded, still not saying anything.
"Evelyn here saw me and talked to me. She pointed me in your direction. Without this doll," Louis tickled Evelyn, "I would've never found you."
"Oh what good news to see you again," Harry finally said, quite sarcastically.
"Hey don't be sassy with me, Curly," Louis joked.
Harry gave Louis an irritated look.
"Look," Louis started, running his hands through his own hair, "I'm not asking you to come home, but I am asking you to give me another chance."
"Another chance?" Harry asked, obviously annoyed.
"I'm sorry okay? I can't turn back time, trust me I would if I could. Apologizing probably isn't going to get me anywhere, but it's a good start," Louis said.
"No apologizing isn't going to work," Harry said.
"Do you want to know the truth?"
Harry nodded.
"It happened," Louis shrugged, "It was in the moment. We kissed in public because we were supposed to. I actually forgot it was her and felt as if it was you. We came home, and you know the rest."
Harry nodded again.
Louis told Evelyn to go play and she did.
"I'm a fucking mess, Harry," Louis said, starting to get really emotional.
"I'm drinking, I'm doing fucking drugs, I'm cutting, I-I'm constantly alone.. Before today I hadn't stepped foot outside other than to buy alcohol for gods sake," Louis said, crying while saying everything.
Harry just sat there, staring at his fidgeting hands.
"You hate me. You don't even care about me anymore do you? You know I don't blame you. I hate my own self," Louis looked away.
"I never said I didn't care anymore," Harry mumbled.
Louis crossed his arms and looked everywhere but at Harry.
"I love you, Louis," Harry said, "How could you think that I would ever stop loving you? Even if you stop loving me, I will never... never stop loving you."
"Okay," Louis managed to say.
"I'm just upset and confused and angry and just--I don't even know anymore..." Harry said, running his fingers through his hair.
"I know," Louis sighed, "I am too. I'm really sorry about what I did. It was wrong of me."
"I'm still not ready to come home," Harry said, "But I'll visit once a week."
Louis looked hopeful, "Goodbye, Harry."
"Bye, Louis," Harry waved as Louis stood up, put his earbuds back in, and walked home.
