Chapter VII - Lonely Road, Come Back to Me

2 months later....

I still can't get over Christi.
I had so much deep feelings toward her.
I'm losing everyone I've loved or cared about and that breaks me in such a way that can't be explained.
I love Bradley and Dustin and the rest of them but Christi just had something about her.

Seeing her body in a state like that will be with me til the day I die.
I went back for her body and had her buried.
I can't even bring myself to visit her grave.
Maybe the universe is telling me something.
Something I should've figured out and settled with years ago, maybe.

Markus hasn't moved Christi's things in his room.
Hasn't even touched a single thing.
He would always go downstairs and just smell her coat that she adored. It smelled just like her and he couldn't help but just wonder, what could he have done?
maybe he could've prevented it, he thought.
Maybe if he hadn't pointed out that alley while they were running, she would be here.

These thoughts constantly rushed through Markus's mind. Could he have prevented this?

Abby woke up from a long nap, she slept in.
"Ah fuck." She said to herself as she turned off her alarm.

She usually set an alarm to go to the store when it wasn't busy in hopes no one would recognize her.

Abby got up and went to see if Alex was there.

"surprised your up." Alex said.

"Come on, i'm surprised that you are up." Abby responded.

"I'm trying to get up earlier now." Alex replied.

"For that girl?" Abby said teasing her son as she was making coffee.

"N-no..." Alex said sounding nervous.

"Whateverrrrrr you say." Abby continued.

Abby made herself coffee and cereal.

"Long day ahead." Abby told Alex.

"How so?" Alex said looking up at his mother.

"Because I have to raise you. Ah, i'm kidding!" Abby said laughing.

She loves to tease her son.

Alex just chuckled a bit to himself.

As Alex chuckled, he dropped his phone on the glass table.
It didn't do anything to the table but Abby froze.

It sounded like a gunshot.

Waiver St.

"Markus! I hear gunshots..we need to go back." Abby told Markus in worry.

"Man, if we head down there we'll be dead in seconds. We needa to keep moving." Markus replied.

"B-but Dale!" Abby cried.

"I left the car for him. He should be out of there, don't worry Abby." Markus replied.

"Keep moving homie. We need to get out quick." Markus said dragging Abby along.

Abby looked back in the pouring rain.
She heard gunshots and police screaming.

She felt a gut instinct telling her Dale won't make it.
She wanted to lie to herself but she needed to accept the truth.

"Abby! Come on homegirl, we need to move!" Markus yelled.
