I hear my alarm go off at 6:30 am I roll out of bed and undo the braid that I put in the night before. I put on my outfit, makeup, and grab my Backpack and Cheer bag. I throw a few granola bars in my backpack to eat before cheer because I don't want to make that mistake again. By the time I pick up my backpack again, I can hear Zayden honking his car horn. Because Liam and I live next door to each other Zaden stops between the two houses and honk his horn. "Bye Mom! Love You!" I yell running out the door. I run and jump into the back of Zaydens car. Liam hops into the passengers' seat and we take off for school. We pull up to the school around the same time Grayson rolls up on his skateboard. All three of us jump out of the car and head for the entrance where Grayson is now waiting for us. "Gray, you know I can give you a ride in the morning. I have to drive past your house on the way here."
"Yeah, but I'm the nerd of the group, I need something cool." We all laugh a little bit as we walk into school for the first day of Junior year. We walk down the halls when I see a pack of kids around someone I don't recognize. "Who's that?" I ask looking between the three boys, between the three of us we have most of the school covered. Usually one of the four of us knows who someone is. "I think I've seen him at football this last week, but I still don't really know who He is."
"You need to learn who He is."
"Why?"
"Because He's a football guy, You take care of all of the football and Basketball guys. I learn the Soccer and Polo guys." Zayden says. "No, because He's hot and I need you to set me up."
"I'm sorry when did we become your dating service?" Grayson asks. "When none of you asked me out."
"That is not a valid reason," Zayden says with a glare. "Ya'll just want me to be single for the rest of my life."
"Honestly it's not the worst idea you've had." Liam says shrugging his shoulders a little bit. I punch his shoulder, before crossing my arms. "Owch! Em!" I glare over at him. "Okay, I get it I'm sorry. We just don't want you to date another meathead jock who's gonna break your heart again."
"Again I say. None of y'all are gonna change my relationship status though." I look at the three boys who are all starring with a blank expression on their faces. "Ugh!" I say before walking off to find my first hour class. I sit in the middle towards the back and wait for the bell to ring. "Is this seat taken?" I hear a low voice next to me. I look up to see none other then Grayson standing next to me. "You we're hoping I was hot and mysterious from the hallway weren't you."
"I was, but instead I got my cousin."
"Step cousin."
"Doesn't matter, still related."
"I know... but I'm trying to avoid being related to...."
"All this awesomeness. You just wished we shared genetics." He smiles and rolls his eyes at me. After Grayson moved into town in third grade his mom meet my uncle Spencer  and three short years later they finally got married, so right now Greyson is my step cousin, but I'm helping him work on a surprise for my uncle. Greyson is gonna ask Spencer to adopt him on Spencer's birthday next month. We both make a lot of jokes about being related, at first it was because it was a little weird to us,  but now it's more because it's our thing and it just feels right. I hear the bell go off to signal that class is finally over. I mean I'm taking Chemistry this year and with Greyson as a lab partner I'm not going to have to worry about this class very much. I'm not bad at school, I might act like an idiot around my friends and to keep up the dumb cheerleader act, but I can pull good grades on my own. I start walking to my next class when I feel an arm go over my shoulders. "So beautiful, how was your first class?"
"Zayden... what did you do?"
"Nothing, I just want to make sure you feel loved and appreciated." He said squeezing me in closer as I fight to push myself away. "Okay he's gone now, your free to go."
"What was that? Who's gone?"
"Oh that football dude you saw earlier was walking by."
"Are you trying to ruin my life?"
"No, that's just a bonus." He says with a wink before walking away. "Then what was the point of that!" I roll my eyes before walking away and heading to my next hour. As I walk in and look around I see none other then Liam sitting the second row back third seat over, just like he does in every other class. I walk to the row behind him and sit down. English, my least favorite class. Liam sits in-front of me somehow taking notes on the first day of class as I sit there and use him as a human shield to hide my phone behind. I hear the bell ring as I let out a sigh of relief because this class is over. Liam turns around and looks at me. "Do you want me to share a google folder with all my notes in it like last year?" He asks. "Yes please." I say batting my eyelashes at him. He rolls his eyes at me. "What would you do with out me?"
"Well for starters, I'd probably be pretty lonely, and failing English." He rolls his eyes again as he slides his notebook back into his backpack. Third hour Trig. I should be safe from all boys here I walk in and find my seat towards the back of the class. Math is like the one subject that I can actually understand. I pop in my headphones to relax for a second before class starts, but as soon as I close my eyes I feel my earbud get ripped out of my ear. "Hey! What are you thinking!" I yell quickly looking at who removed my earbud. "You have got to be kidding me." I say looking at the culprit. I see Zayden standing next to me holding my earbud. "What, you forgot you weren't the only one thats good at math didn't you?"
"Maybe? I mean what are the odds that I have my first three classes with you guys."
"I know crazy right..." he says with a little uncomfortable laugh. "Zayden..." I glare at him before hearing the bell go off. "Saved by the bell." He says with a grin.
One more class till lunch I think to myself walking down the hallway. I walk into history and look around the room for any familiar faces. I don't see any of the boys faces, but I do recognize football boy from earlier. I feel a small smile creep across my face. "Hey, what's the goofy grin about." Zayden asks in my ear while putting his arm around my shoulder. "Oh... it's football boy." Liam says walking up on the other side of me. My smile fades into a look of annoyance. "You have got to be kidding me."
"What did I miss." Greyson walks in and stands behind me. "I'm a good person." I say looking at the sky. I see a smile go across all three of there faces. I go sit down in my usual spot, Liam sits next to me, Zayden on the other side, and Greyson right behind, and cute football boy two rows ahead. I probably should learn his name sometime soon.
