I woke up to the sound of my alarms blasting at full volume, all five of them. If I wanted to make sure I was up in the mornings it was the only way, but if I'm being completely honest I don't really feel like doing anything right now.I somehow find the strength to lift myself up out of the bed, I don't really feel like taking a shower so I grab some cologne and spray it directly in my face. I cough and spit as it flies into my eyes and mouth.
"Bad idea." I say to myself.
I walk downstairs taking my sweet time praying that something comes up so I don't have to go to school tomorrow, it's the first time in a long time that I've felt so down.
As I reach the last steps I see two things that make me wish I hadn't even gotten up in the first place.
A Dog, and a duck.
More specifically Donald Duck and Goofy.
Yes, from the Mickey Mouse show.
"You guys are real?" I groan. "I was hoping that I just made that up."
Donald ran over to me whacking me on the head. "I can't believe we are assigned to a brat like you! It's a complete and total waste of our talents!"
"Hey, I didn't ask for all that crap yesterday! And who said you could come in my house?!" I said, getting in his face.
"We're your guardians! It's our job to make sure you don't get killed." He yelled back. "A little thanks wouldn't be to much to ask would it?!"
Goofy steps in-between us. "Come on now, let's all take it down a notch. Ain't no reason to be all yelly in the morning."
"Whatever." I say, then I walk over to my kitchen and take out some milk and a box of Rice Krispies making myself a bowl of cereal. I turn to Goofy, "do you guys want something to eat? Can you even eat?"
Donald scowled at me. "Yes, we do. And I'll take some of that rice as well."
I looked at the box of cereal. "It ain't rice it's..." I stop, realizing I'm arguing about cereal with a duck. "You can help yourselves, I got school."
Goofy and Donald look at each other. "Well err, we were hopin' that you would come with us to see the King."
I take a bite of my cereal and give them a look. "Yesterday was fun and all, but I'm done with all that now. I don't wanna see those black creatures again and I don't wanna end up with a whole buncha cuts and bruises."
Goofy smiled sympathetically at me. "I understand Sora, but—"
A loud knock on my front door takes my attention. "Sora! You better be awake in there!" I hear from outside.
It's Kairi.
"Yeah, just wait will ya!?" I yell back. "I gotta go, don't make a mess in here, I'll be back to sort all this out after school." I grab my bag and Donald steps in front of me.
"You have a responsibility to this life now, you can't just walk away because you're a afraid of a few cuts." He says.
I glare. "Watch me." I step past him and open the door slightly just in case so that Kairi can't see the two Micky Mouse characters in my house. When I look outside I see Kairi sitting on my front steps with her back turned to the door staring out at the waves as they crash against the beach.
