Finding Love again?

Chapter 1: Moving

Moving to Washington DC wasn't my ideal place to move, it always seemed busy and very noisy. My friend Summer was the one who suggested we move along with her dog Abby and my 4 year old son James. "Maybe it won't be so bad." I thought to myself as I packed things into boxes. We had everything pretty much packed except the bedrooms, I let James pack his room while I was packing mine. "I finished packing mommy." I heard James say not realizing he had came into my room. "Let me go see." I said to him ruffling his already messed up hair. I walked into his room to see that he had indeed packed the rest of the things into boxes. "Good job buddy." I said to him giving him a hug. "I don't want to move." James said to me that night laying in the makeshift bed I made. "I know buddy me either but this will be a fresh start for us, a really good thing." I said to him. "At least Auntie Summer and Abby are coming." He replied. I smiled at him, giving his forehead a kiss before leaving the room. It had always been just James and I, his daddy has never really been around. We met when we were young and fell instantly in love, we dated for awhile and he even voiced he wanted kids but once I got pregnant he ran into problems with alcohol and disappeared. I was lucky to have family and even my friend Summer, if it wasn't for them I wouldn't of been able to raise James on my own. When I found out I was pregnant, I was so nervous how to tell my family but once I did they supported me no matter what. My mom and I seemed to become more closer during my pregnancy, she was always at the appointments and making sure I had everything. Finding out he was a boy made me super nervous, I didn't know how to care for a boy since I only had nieces but once he was born he instantly was a mommy's boy. I named him James after my grandpa who unexpectedly passed away before he was born. Being his mommy has been the best, I never knew what result love was until I had a little boy. He always knows how to make everything better just by a smile, a hug or an "I love you mommy."
