*Valdin's Pov*
''That was so foolish! So foolish! I've never seen something so stupid, so reckless in my entire existence as a goddess!'' Venus shouted, the violet coloring that made up her eyes, shook with tremendous amounts of anger and concern. The bronze gold of her skin was at its brightest when the sun was down, and the circling of storm clouds entered the sky. At that moment, I'd wished she'd stop looking at me the way she was, and focus on something other than me. But as time washed by us, she never did. Her stare was strong, her expression graved in strong amounts of marble and stone, it was impossible to catch her breaking. ''You could've gotten yourself killed! Or worse, what if you both had died?! Did you ever stop to think what might happen had you'd been just a little slower?!'' Her voice was full of flames, her hands held into tight fists, she looked ready to aim towards me. If it wasn't for her being my sister, maybe she wouldn't have cared so much, but a part of me was thankful. Thankful for the fact a part of her human self still resonated inside. Thankful she wasn't just made up of complete goddess. She still had the horrifying, fearful, anger, a human held when they felt threatened in regards of a loved one.
''Relax Venus, I decided as long as I'm damned to hell, I might as well pull of a charming rescue first.'' I smiled, shinning my violet eyes at her, as now, I could make out little blue veins popping out from the corners of her face. Venus's anger disappeared from her face for a moment, as she let out a frustrated breath, then her eyes closed, as her face cooled and calmed. Returning to normal, as her eyes bowed. Dropping as if she was releasing them from her frustration. ''And so a god fell in love with a human....'' she mumbled. I looked away, only to catch myself, as I stared at the rescued remains of Faith Collins. She lay unconscious laid out like a distorted corpse, the burns covering her late, perfect skin brought shame to my face, as i recounted the scores between myself and the flames, coming up empty, as the fire came out as the winner. It'd managed to get to her before I had. The sight of her pulled at me, strongly, the sight of her, forcing me to turn my stare away as i reclaimed my sister's angered glare.
Venus's gaze lingered on Faith's body, as she whispered. ''She's lucky to have you,'' she paused only to continue once she was standing over me. Her short form seeming taller from where I was seated. She had her arms clinging to her sides, as her tongue took turns re-wetting the almost dried up blackberry lipstick, she was so accustomed to wearing. I couldn't stop my face from falling to the floor, as my eyes softened. The softness behind her voice, bumped me like a god with super strength, as I felt burning pain around my chest. ''She's lucky to have you, but how long can you keep protecting her, before you realize, you can't keep this up much longer. Soon, she's going to figure out who you really are, and it's going to be game over.''
''The last thing I want to see, is the ending result in which your world, comes crashing down.'' Venus whimpered. She dropped to one knee, her body was inches away from me now, as i sat on a small piece of white marble, that looked well enough to sit on, as her eyes washed over me with warmth. She was right. Right about everything. If I kept this up, the only thing I had to gain, was the earthquake.
One that would surely destroy me, because
''I am the phantom haunting your dreams. I'm your shadow. I'm not anything else.''
