"Hey Yaz, wanna come over later? My parents aren't gonna be home for 2 weeks."
I sat on my bed, bored wanting company to entertain me.
"Aw, you lonely?"she replies with a flirty voice.
"Haha, so you coming or not? "
"Yeah. I mean, it's not like I have anything better to do right now. Not having a boyfriend and all" she said sarcastically, but I knew she was serious.
"Heh, don't worry about that and get your butt over here."I applied
"I'm a block away from your house."
"Wow that was quick!"
"It's called true friendship!"she spoke with a hint of truthfulness
"Haha, I'm sure that's it. " I said as I rushed to open the door.
I reach for the door nob, I can hear her say, "Open sesame!" Like she always does. I laugh and hang up.
"Hey gurl" she said with a big smile on her face. I've known her for a long time, so it's hard for her to keep things from me. Like right now. I can tell she's hiding something.I don't ask right away. I give it time to see if she is really ok and nothing big happened. But it's been long enough to tell.
We sat down in the living room. I hear her rant about how her morning went, and how she got free donuts by flirting with the cashier. After a while, i ask her."So, what's up?"
Her face says it all. Her smile smiled from ear to ear. Which made mine do the same.
"Omaygad gurl. So, I met a guy-"
I cut her off with a, sigh and rolled my eyes. This has happened to her countless number of times and they all end up the same.
"Trust me this time! He is hella hot and kind!"
"That's what you said last time."After a long talk, we decided to go out and have fun. We hopped on my 1969 black Mustang and went to the best part in town. The mall. It's Yazmin's favorite place to check out hot guys. She makes me tag along, but I don't mind.. I also buy her new makeup things that she loves. After that, we go to my favorite smoothie place, IBubble.
"So why is it that you don't have a boyfriend yet?" My heart freezes when she said it.
"I mean, you're 17 about to be 18 and you haven't had a boyfriend yet? Sheesh! Why do you think I take you to do these things with me?" I hear what she says but I can't seem to find an exit out of this conversation. My only true words are "I don't know."
"Well, at least you still have me, my love."
She says as she winks and puckeres her lips. I smile and push her aside.
"Thanks my love. We should get going. It seems like it's going to rain."Opening the door to dark, empty house with only the moonlight shinning through the window, is something I am very used to. My parents are always overseas and my 20 year old brother lives with on his own with his girlfriend. I haven't heard of him in years. I can hear it start to rain as I put my keys down on the living room table. I throw my leather jacket on the couch and head to my room. The raindrops echo through the empty hallway that I walk on. By the time I get to my room, it's already poring rain. I throw myself to bed and close my eyes.
"I guess its it's just me again."
