"Lyn remember to be packed before we leave tomorrow." A brown hair, fair skinned female reminds me from my doorway. Julia Enhet.

"Yes mom, I was just about to start." I said.

"Just about to start reading again." she chuckled while walking away. Tomorrow we set out to the capital of the elven kingdom, Xenos. Since I turned fifteen last week my parents decided to see what affinity of magic I have. At the age of fifteen every human teen should gain an affinity for a certain magic type. One of four, fire, water, wind, and earth. It's not uncommon for someone to be able to use more than one, but it is unheard of to have an affinity for more than one. In a world where magic is everything what affinity you have decides your fate in this world.

At the capital cities of the Human and Elven kingdoms there are these testing orbs that test your mana pool, strength, and affinity. These are bound to change overtime, but us commoners usually have an early limit to our magic capabilities.

My mother loves books, before I was born she bought a lot of magic books for me to read when I was old enough. I've learned a lot about every affinity in preparation for my own.

After I finished packing my various items and clothes I thought it would be a good time to go to sleep, I have a big day tomorrow.

"GOOD MORNING!" My father yelled into my room startling me awake. "How'd you sleep?" he asked as I rubbed my eyes and sat up.

"I was fine until just now." I replied.

My father was a large man with an average sized build, he used to work at the capital of the human kingdom as a knight so he is fairly toned. Black hair and electric blue eyes, just like mine. Peter Enhet.

"Well get ready son, we are leaving soon. Our carriage will be here any minute." he walked out of the room.

I got up from my bed, closed the door, and started getting dressed. I looked in the mirror as I got dressed, I couldn't help but smirk at myself for being blessed with a wonderful body. Black hair, blue eyes, and sharp prince like features made for a killer combination for the ladies.

"Maybe I'll find a cute girl to make my wife at Xenos." I mumbled to myself.

I walked out of the cottage with a green tunic and beige trousers to match. The green grass on the various hills surrounding our house swayed in the wind. The spring air filled my lungs. The landscape in the small town I grew up in was nothing to scoff at.

"I'm going to miss this place."

"Don't worry Lyn, the scenery at the elven kingdom is said to be even more beautiful." My mother chided.

If my magic power and pool were great enough there is a chance that I will be sponsored to live in the elven kingdom while I train, so if all goes well I might never see this place again.

"Lyn, are you ready?" My father asked while beckoning me to join him in the carriage.

I took his hand and we started our week long adventure to the elven kingdom.

"Lyn, are you excited?" my father asked.

"Of course, I'll finally be able to use magic like you and mom." I said.

"Oh so you are excited, what element in particular are you hoping to get?"

"Hmmm, tough question. Wind seems to be particularly powerful, as well as fire. I hope to get wind because I could use it to travel much easier, that is if I get strong enough." I replied.

"I'm sure you know this already, but affinities aren't hereditary, the strength and amount of mana you have partially is. My mana pool is definitely greater than average and your mothers is only slightly less than mine. There is a lot of hope for your magic capabilities, especially if you are beloved by mans. Who knows, maybe one day you'll join the knights in the fight against the Abyss."

"Maybe, I'd much rather be an adventurer."

"Well consider your options based on the affinity you have, there isn't much of a point of speculating right now. Just enjoy the ride and worry after your fate has been decided."

"Thanks dad." I smiled at him.

"That's what I'm here for."

The ride past north to the elven kingdom went by without a hitch. We were attacked by wolf like beast bearing dark, sharp, magic claws, however this was nothing for my dad.

With the elven kingdom's huge trees in sight I couldn't help but feel butterflies well up in my stomach in anticipation.
