"You really loved him.", Felix said in a whisper and Eric smiled. "Yes."

His face grew serious and anger could be seen in his eyes. "But it all changed because one of our pack, Jiwon's best friend, broke the one and only rule every werewolf pack had."

"What rule?", Felix asked and Eric tightened his grip around the pillow. "Never trust a vampire."

--------------Eric flashback------------------------------

It all started in middle school. 

Eric's parents went through a divorce while Eric came out as gay. His parents were not happy about Eric's sexuality, so his mother send Eric off to her father. His wife had passed away that same spring, so both lonely souls could use each other's comforting company. It was hard for the 13-year-old to get over his parent's decision. His grandfather didn't mind, he said that as long as Eric was happy, he was happy too.

 Eric went to visit his mother's old school. The kids in the school were already familiar with each other so it was hard for Eric to fit in. He was one of the more shy and quiet kids. However, he shouldn't stay lonely for too long. Jiwon came up to Eric when he was peacefully watching some skate YouTubers on his phone during their lunch break. 

"Isn't that Chris Chann?"

Eric looked at his classmate in surprise and nodded slowly. The other's eyes began to sparkle and a silly grin grew on his lips.

"So, you also skate?"

Eric nodded again.

"Are you free after school? The boys and I want to go to the skatepark at the other end of town. You are invited if you wanna come.", Jiwon suggested in a cheerful voice. Eric didn't really feel comfortable, considering that there would be many people he doesn't know. He was thinking about the pros and cons of going when someone called for Jiwon.

"Well, you don't have to, think about it tho I would be glad if you would come.", Jiwon gave Eric's shoulder a slight pat before getting up and leaving the classroom together with the person who had called him. Eric considered just staying at home and telling Jiwon the next day that he had struggled with physics homework. That was a lie though. Eric was one of the best in his class when it came to physics. But Jiwon's words were haunting Eric's mind the whole day, trying to convince him to go. I would be glad if you would come.

I can't believe I am doing this. Eric thought to himself while walking down the path to get to the skatepark. The skatepark was located near the lake, where Eric and his grandfather would take a walk every Sunday. He had seen the skatepark many times before and his grandfather always insisted that Eric should go and skate a little while he would sit on a bench and watch him. But Eric never went. It reminded him too much of his life back in LA. But now he was here. 

He could see the group already from afar and hear their laughter. On second thought, who needs friends? Let's just go home and buy some ice cream on the way back and-

"Eric, you came!", as Eric was about to turn around, he heard footsteps catching up to him and he silently cursed. His heart fluttered a little at the sight of the boy in front of him. He carried a skateboard under his arm, his elbows and knees had little scratches on them and his hair was a sweet mess. Sweat was dripping down his neck onto his shirt, which Jiwon took up to his face to get rid of some drops that were running down to his nose. Damn it.
