Midoriya Izuku was born Midoriya Isla. When he was only four years old, he'd run around with the boys and wrestle with them. He wasn't very good at it and he usually ended up crying, mostly because of Kacchan.
No matter how many times he cried he always went back. Which just pissed off Kacchan even more. They'd been friends, then Katsuki started thinking girls were gross and no longer wanted to be around him.
When Izuku went to school for the first time he didn't want to answer the teacher when his name was called. He didn't know why it just wasn't him.
Years went by as he still followed Kacchan around no matter how many insults he or threats of violence he received.
When he was ten years old the school gave them the talk after asking permission from the parents and he hated every minute of it.
He sat in the back his arms across his nonexistent chest wishing he could be anywhere except there.
'If I was a guy then I wouldnt have to be here.' He thought to himself and he perked up at that thought.
That day he'd gone home and started doing research. He wasn't sure what he was looking for, but he figured he'd know when he found it.
In his search he'd found a whole world he didn't know about. He started taking notes and jotting down anything and everything that came to mind.
A year later after he explored some of the labels finding more information and connecting with people in a support group online, he'd sat down and talked to his mom.
"Hey, mom can we talk?" He asked rubbing the back of his neck his hand tangling in his long hair.
"Of course, sweetie what's up?" She asked looking over at him.
He sat down across from her and sighed fidgeting with his hands. "I... Uh...it's just..." he sighed putting his face in his hands. "How would you react if I told you I wasn't your daughter?" He mumbled before meeting his mother's gaze.
"Well I'd remind you about the hours of labor I went through. You're definitely my kid I have stretch marks to prove it."
"Okay bad question what if I said I was your son and not your daughter?" He said holding her hand. "I've done some research and I just I feel more like a guy. All the girls in my class are fawning over guys and yeah some of them are kinda cute I just don't think I'm a girl."
Inko listened to him talk letting him get it out before she decided to speak. "Sweetie I don't care if you're a boy or girl or neither or whatever else is out there. All I care about is you being you and being happy. So, if you're happier as a guy then I'll love you just the same." She said getting up to hug him.
Izuku smiled and hugged his mom as tears spilled from his eyes. "Thank you, mom." He said squeezing her gently. "Could you try calling me Izuku?"
"Izuku?" She said tilting her head and testing the name. "I like it, it suits you."
That went a whole lot smoother than he thought it would. He'd had to switch schools that summer due to his getting shut down after they found out that nothing was up to standards and the buildings kept falling.
His mom had taken him shopping to get new clothes and a haircut along with a binder after he asked having developed a dislike to his chest.
He explained to her how it worked and the proper way to use it along with washing it and everything that it entailed. It took a little bit of getting used to, but they adjusted.
His mom was more accepting with every passing day. He'd seen Kacchan for the first time in about a year on his way to school one day and wasn't sure if the blonde remembered him or even recognized him.
