New World

Chapter 1

"We need to get down in the bunkers now! It's happening." My mother yells as we all were running down the stairs frantically.

"Mommy I'm scared!" Cried my 5 year old brother Dakota, grasping my mothers hand for dear life.

"Yeah mommy." Nina cried out grasping my dads neck. My mom frowned and then put a reassuring look on her face turning to her toddlers.

"My babies it will all be fine as long as we keep moving and get to the bunker before they're dropped." My babies nod their heads reluctantly.

"Ok mommy." They whine in unison.

My mother, Etenia, is born an raised Native American, when she strayed away from her tribe she fell in love with a tan man of Italian decent, which is a no no in the tribe; she was subsequently kicked out of the tribe and married my dad, Matteo. She wanted to still stick to her culture by naming all her children American Indian names and my dad agreed, knowing she had given up so much for him.

With our things in our hands, me holding Ninas belongings, my mother opens the front door and turns to look at everyone, a stern and serious look on her face, handing me Dakotas bag.

"No matter what, you don't stop running." My mother stated to my father and I sternly. I have two backpacks on my backside and now Dakota strapped to my frontside. "Now!" My mother yells, taking off towards the bunker entrance across the yard.

In a matter of seconds, the loudest most piercing noise broke through the earth. I slap my hands over and my ears and look to the sky to see and flaming ball coming towards the earth, making me pick up my pace.

We make it to the door as the red ball gets closer to the earth, my mom throws everyone inside the bunker, heaving the giant metal door behind her and as I hear a crack in the earths surface, the ground and walls shaking all around us and her and my dad frantically work together to latch the door shut just in time.

My mom leans against the door, eyes closed and breathing heavily. "Great job my babies." She breaths out.

Hi everyone! This is a new story I will be working on slowly. In all honesty, it was a dream I had and woke up and had to jot everything down. I hope you enjoy this as much as I do! The chapters will be longer, I just wanted to get a sneak peak out! ;)
