Dipper and Pacifica fell into the dark, deserted, hidden room, both of them out of breath from running from the ghost. Dipper turned his flashlight on, and looked around the room.
“What are we gonna do, Dipper? The ghost is right behind us!” whispered Pacifica.
“I think we’re safe in here for now, but we should probably wait it out just in case.” They sat in the darkness for a few silent minutes, until Pacifica spoke up in a tiny voice.
“Dipper?” she whispered. “I’m kinda scared… but you didn’t see me like this, okay?”
“Ugh, Pacifica, do you not realize we are running from a category ten ghost? Of course you’re going to be scared! Can’t you not be worried about how you look in front of someone for once?” he whisper-shouted.
“I-I… I’m sorry, Dipper, you’re right.” Dipper sat in astonishment. Did Pacifica Northwest, the most stuck-up girl in the world, just admit she was wrong? He must be dreaming. “I just… I don’t know what to do,” she continued. “There’s just so much I haven’t done yet, and I don’t know if I’m ever going to be able to do those things…”
“W-w-well,” began Dipper, still in shock at the admission that she just made, “what kind of things do you mean?”
“Well, to be honest, I… You know what, never mind,” she said, a hint of annoyance in her voice.
“Come on, Pacifica. You know I won’t judge you for it. It’s not like I haven’t done things I always wanted to do…”
“Well, I don’t want to say mine, okay?” she said. Dipper had gone from shock to curiosity. He wanted to know what the secret she had so desperately wanted to tell him a moment ago was, and why she had suddenly changed her mind about telling him.
“How about this. I’ll tell you something I’ve always wanted to do if you tell me something you’ve always wanted to do. Deal?” Dipper tried to reason with her.
She was silent for a moment, as she contemplated her answer. “Alright, fine,” she said. “But only if you go first.”
“Okay, fine with me. Let’s see…” Dipper was honestly having a hard time coming up with anything to say. “I’ve always wanted to… hmmm… Let’s see…” He finally decided on something to tell her, but he knew it was going to make things very awkward. “I’ve always wanted to have a shot at having Wendy as my girlfriend.”
Pacifica’s face immediately fell. “Oh…” she said. “Well, um that really kinda makes what I want to do impossible…”
“Well, maybe not,” Dipper tried to reassure her. He felt bad for whatever it was that he said that made her sad. "Come on, you can tell me. I promise I won't laugh." She looked at him, with a look of pure embarassment.
"Okay, I'm just going to get it off my chest. I... I... Ah, who cares anymore," she said in frustration. And with that, she thrust her body towards his and kissed Dipper.
Dipper was in complete and utter shock at first, but after a few seconds, he finally understood. Pacifica pulled away, and looked into Dipper's eyes. "I've wanted to do that for so long," she said, with a sigh of relief. "You have no idea..."
"Pacifica, I... I never knew..." stammered Dipper. "If I had known... I mean, I would've treated you a little differently than I have been until now..." With that, he began to move a little bit closer to her. "I mean... Hypothetically, if I would feel the same, would you maybe... um... Want to do that again... God," he whispered, "I really could use Blendin's time tape right now..."
