Regretful

Chapter 5: Operation Jealousy

Victoria, Calvin, Konrad, Hayden, Hank, and June are noticing Rupert and Henry have feelings for each other so they decided to come up with a plan to get them together.

Rupert and Henry were walking to the cafeteria and talking about a random thing until they went inside, they got their food and sat down with the Bukowski twins and Victoria. The twins were snickering about pranks, they haven't pulled a prank on Henry yet because of the situation he's in at the moment.

Rupert and Victoria were talking while Henry was eating quietly, he was spacing out and minding his own business. Calvin noticed Henry being quiet so he got a piece of paper and wrote something on it, he slid discreetly across to Henry who grabbed the note and read it.

"Hey, are you okay?"

Henry glanced up at Calvin and saw he was waiting for an answer, Calvin slid the pencil to him and Henry wrote his reply. 

"Yeah. Why?"

Henry gave the paper back to Calvin who replied and was about to give it to him until Konrad bumped his arm with his elbow, he turned to his brother who was cackling lowly.

"What?" asked Calvin lowly. 

"Writing love notes?" cackled Konrad, he was smirking. 

The way he said it wasn't quiet, it was loud but not too loud. Rupert glanced away from Victoria and heard those words coming from Konrad's mouth. For some reason, Rupert had an ugly feeling in his chest and he started to growl lowly.

Victoria was shocked and the twins recoiled from him in fear, Henry stared at Rupert in bewilderment. What's wrong with Rupert? Why is he acting like that? He was just fine earlier, Henry bowed his head and twiddled with his fingers. 

"Uh...Rupert? You okay?" said Victoria tentatively.

Rupert shook his head and he saw everyone at the table staring at him in concern. "What?" he asked slowly.

"You okay? You were growling and it scared us," replied Konrad, still scared from Rupert's growling.

Rupert was perplexed, he never acted like that before. He felt anger and rage but only to the Toppats and Charles' death, he was doing fine until he heard Konrad ask his brother about love notes. Why is Calvin writing notes to Henry anyway?

"I'm fine," said Rupert firmly. The others wanted to argue but decided against it.

The rest of the lunch went by quickly and Henry was the first one to leave, a little after that, Rupert left too. Victoria and the twins are still wondering what just happened, "I've seen Rupert like that before." said Konrad fearfully.

"Yeah," added Calvin. "I just wanted to make sure Henry was okay."

"That's because Rupert has feelings for Henry," said Victoria.

The twins stared at her, mouths agape. They never expected that answer, Rupert has feelings for Henry. 

"How would you know exactly?" questioned Calvin suspiciously.

"I found them in an imitate position and their faces were red as a tomato." 

"That doesn't prove anything."

"Oh! And you think you are an expert now?" said Victoria mockingly. "When's the last time, you have been on a date?"

Calvin's face flushed while his brother was laughing his head off and Victoria had a smug look on her face, Calvin then slapped his brother in anger.

"Ow!" he said painfully. He rubbed his sore arm and glared at his brother.

"What about you, Konrad?" asked Victoria.

Konrad's face went red and Calvin roared with laughter causing some of the soldiers to look over at them. Victoria was having a blast, teasing the twins.

"I think Rupert has feelings for Henry and vice versa," said Victoria again.

"Should we wait to gather evidence first to prove your theory?" questioned Calvin annoyed.

"Gather evidence for what?" added a voice.

They all turned to see June July, staring at them with a confused look on her face. She also had Hayden, who looked bored or tired as usual, and Hank, raising an eyebrow at them. Victoria gave them a look and she decided they needed to know.

"We are gathering evidence cause of Rupert and Henry," said Victoria.

"Why?" asked June, still confused.

"I think Rupert and Henry have feelings for each other."

"Have they given any signals that they have feelings for each other?"

"Oh yes."

Victoria told June and the others about what she saw with Rupert and Henry, the others nodded and Hayden got a devious look on his face. Hank saw that look and knew he's gonna lose some money, once again. Victoria and June also saw the look and sighed in amusement.

"I guess you guys, believe me now," said Victoria while smirking. "So do you guys want to be a part of this?"

June, Hayden, and Hank nodded yes and the twins grinned. Victoria then explained the plan to get Rupert and Henry together. She decided to instruct Calvin and Konrad to "flirt" with them, Calvin will flirt with Henry and Konrad will flirt with Rupert. Of course, they protested cause they didn't like that plan.

"Why do I have to flirt with Rupert?" complained Konrad.

"And why do I have to flirt with Henry?" added Calvin. "Did you forget about Rupert's reaction when I asked him that he was okay?"

June, Hayden, and Hank were snickering at their plight, Victoria gave the twins an unamused glance, basically ignoring their plight. Hayden whispered a bet to Hank and he smirked at him, June was shaking her head at Hayden's usual way to entertain himself. 

"No, I didn't forget that. That proves my theory a little," said Victoria calmly.

"But what if he kills me?" asked Calvin fearfully.

"He won't, he'll just threaten to kill you but won't do it," replied Victoria nonchalantly.

"How would you know!?"

"I know him and I know he has anger issues but not homicidal tendencies." 

"That doesn't help at all!"

"Calm down. You'll make a scene," said Victoria annoyed.

"Me? Calm down!?" exclaimed Calvin incredulously.  

Konrad covered his brother's mouth with his hand, and Calvin struggled for a bit until he calmed down. Calvin groaned in frustration and set his head down on the table, Konrad felt bad for his brother but how did Henry react to Calvin flirting with him and Konrad flirting with Rupert?

"I have a question," said Konrad hesitantly.

"What is it, Konrad?" asked Victoria.

"What's Henry like...with relationships?" questioned Konrad gingerly. "I mean, how would he react to someone flirting with him?"

"Well, Henry was a former thief and criminals rarely fall in love," replied Victoria. "From what I've heard, he was so busy being a thief that he hadn't got the time to form bonds."

"Makes sense," said Konrad thoughtfully. 

"What about us?" questioned June. Hayden and Hank nodded, they wanted to be part of the plan too.

"You guys will keep an eye on Rupert, Henry, Calvin, and Konrad," replied Victoria. "You'll have to make sure everything goes according to plan."

"Sounds cool but what happens when something goes wrong?" asked June.

"As long we do the plan just right, it will be just fine," answered Victoria.

The others nodded and everyone went back to what they were doing.
