The sound of crumpling leafs filled my ears as I walked down the dirt road toward my house. The only way to get to my house was a long creepy dirt road. The bus driver refused to dive all the way down so I was stuck every day to walk down it. It reminded me of a scene you might see out of a horror movie.

I hate scary movies. One time I had a panic attack at a movie theater in my old town. I was with my best friend Lyla. She dragged me to see a movie called Always Watching. Long story short I blacked out and Lyla called the police. So yea, you could say i'm not into scary things.

“Why did we have to move?” I mutter “We were fine at our old house” I breathed out a shaky sigh. I felt the trees watch me as I walked. Their autumn colors were dull and soggy from all the rain this month. This was a rare day when it didn't rain. I heard the rustling in the bushes and I walked a little faster. My shoulder ached from where my red school bag was slung over my shoulder. I've been at Kennedy High for about a week now and I was surprised on how easily made a friend. Christy was a small girl but that didn't match her personality. She could easily be popular with her strawberry blond hair and vibrant brown eyes. She was tiny on the account she ate more food than anyone I've met. Instead she sat next to me during lunch and that was it. We were destined to be friends. Me on the other hand was more on the tall side. I was a sophomore and i'm leaning close to five, ten. I had dark brown hair that was a hassle to keep down. My hair wasn't so much curly but wavy. I wasn't very curvy but I did have a decent figure. The part I loved about me was my eyes. They were a bright green and long lashes accompanied them. Christy showed me around the school and whos who. The populars, the jocks, the loners, and the nerds. We were classified under the loners. Which I didn't mind. I wasn't very popular in my old school too.

Lost in my thoughts I didn't realize I was walking into my driveway. Both of my parents cars were gone as usual. My new house wasn't big but wasn't small either. It had two floors with five rooms. I didn't know what my parents were thinking when they bought this house. Its just the three of us and they both are gone almost all day. My mom works at a hospital and basically lives there. Only coming home at ungodly hours a night. My dad worked in the military and was at the army base near here. This was the first time we moved and it was because dad was being transferred. Hes getting him and his team ready for an upcoming mission in Syria. I tried my best not to think of the things that could happen to him. I got out my keys and unlocked the door. I stepped inside and walked to the kitchen. I didn't like the school food so I usually skipped out. The one thing my mom always made sure was that the fridge was fully stocked.

I pulled out some turkey and cheese from the fridge and bread from the cupboard. I made myself a sandwich then put everything back. I went into the big living room and finally pulled off my backpack. I didn't really mind homework. It took my mind off the stress of moving. Some brown moving boxes were littered throughout the new house. I pulled out a heavy chemistry book and started to read the assigned pages. I was a couple minutes into the book when the doorbell rang. I looked up confused and put my books on the table. The pathway to my house was very long so I assumed it was one very determined Jehovah Witness. I couldn't shake the chill that was running down my spine as I looked out the window. It had started to rain again making up for the few hours of sunlight. I couldn't see clearly as the downpour hammered the yard. There was a dark figure waiting at the door. I felt the hairs on the back of my neck stand up and I pressed my back against the wall. Maybe he or she or.....it will leave. I thought. I squared my shoulders and made my way to the door. Your an idiot. He could be a murder! I ignored the twisting feeling in my gut. I reached for the door handle and turned it. I felt my heart beat through my chest. I opened it enough for me to take a good look at the guy standing in front of me. He only looked a year or two older then me. He had matted dirty blond hair. He had a few inches on me and he looked fit. He was leaning on the door frame with a newspaper in his hands. He looked arrogant and a whisper of a smile showed on his lips. He was wearing only a navy blue sweatshirt and regular blue jeans on. He was drenched. His grey eyes studied me, looking up and down at my body. I immediately felt uncomfortable and crossed my arms. I tried to stop myself from shaking.
