we laid there.
absolutely fucked up.
"i won," you mumbled, turning over stiffly to look me in the eyes.
"shut up, we're literally dying." i breathed and coughed roughly.
"and?" you chuckled. "i won! did you see that awesome hook? it got you right under you chin. i think i heard a tooth or two crack." you shifted around to get comfortable on the rubble.
"really? are you going to ignore when i landed that perfect roundhouse? i thought i could feel your stomach wrapping around my foot, i didn't know you were into violent feet, damn." i said, trying not to laugh.
"shut up! you feinted by flashing me, what was i supposed to do? look away?"
"yes!"
"well damn, it's not my fault that you look so beautiful," you whispered.
i could hear your breathing shake. your fingers were pale. your left eye was so bruised you couldn't even see through it. your nose was bent the wrong way. i could see dried tears around your eyes. i saw new ones forming but pretended not to notice. your body shook noticeably.
"hey, listen." i began.
"stop, you don't have to say it. you don't have to do anything," you mumbled, closing your eyes.
"i love you," i said.
your body stopped shaking for a moment. you seemed to sink into the atmosphere around you.
"hey, say that again."
"shut up, it's your turn."
"damn it,"
"i love you,"
"i know,"
"wait for me,"
"nah, i'm going first. you better catch up."
"shut up, eat my dead dust."
"bitch, we'll see."
