Meeting

Grey's POV

After escaping the relictombs i went to meet up with Alaric, to give him his share of profits. As I got closer to the town i noticed him Alaric waiting for me- he looked almost worried, i ignored this observation presuming he was most likely drunk again; getting closer i got a warning from Regis 'that old man is acting different today be careful'.

Regis' warning didn't mean much though as i trusted Alaric and i doubt he would try to endanger me. "Hey Alaric i just got out the tombs i didn't make much though" i said with friendly smile but Alaric didn't answer me, i repeated my greeting in a less friendly tone and he spun around quickly shock written all over his face.

"H-hey kid, good to see you made it out" confused by his shocked tone i questioned him "anything wrong Alaric? you seem different today" i asked genuinely worried by his tone but his reply was strange. "It's nothing just thought i felt something for a second" i was about to question him further however as i went to speak his mouth dropped he was scared, true terror overcame him. He couldn't speak a single word. He stayed there idle for a few seconds then something confusing yet terror inspiring came out of his mouth "its here but why?"

Worried by what he just said i started interrogating him "what's here? What does it want? Is it an enemy?" I said all these without regard for Alaric and how he is currently in a state of immense shock, this didn't stop me though i was about to ask further, 'calm down give the man chance to speak he's clearly freaked out' my ethereal companion mentally held me back. I waited for Alaric's response but none came that's when i felt it.

A immensely strong aura that felt as if the air in my lungs were being sucked out, immediately i encased my body in aether, a purple light surrounded me making me feel at ease however it didn't erase my worry of what sort of monster is walking around while releasing an aura of that magnitude.

Alaric's POV

I couldn't breathe, a strong aura rupturing my very soul started leaking out onto the world, this could be only one thing a scythe however not all scythes are this strong and this inexperienced the powerful aura kept fluctuating implying they had little control over mana.

I was getting overcome by curiosity so i attempted to walk towards it but every fibre in my body told me not to, i couldn't help myself i needed to see the owner of this aura i was being pulled to it. Just as i gained enough strength to move my legs forward something grabbed my arm i turned around but to my surprise it was Grey.

He dragged far enough away so i could breathe properly again and dropped me in a alley that wasn't affected by that aura, i started returning to normal. "Thank you" i managed to get some words out however i was still gasping for air i was going to warn him not to go back, however before i could say anything else he ran out of the alley and back toward that monstrous aura "what the hell".

Grey's POV

I recognise that aura its the same as hers but different somehow, i know it's her. It's Tess. 'Dont go to her i know what your thinking but you saw her on that night, you watched her stand next to Nico.' Regis tried his best to stop me from seeing her however i cant. I wont. I need to see her, 'it's her i know it... I want to know why she went with Nico that day and fought against the asuras no, i have to know' Regis stayed silent after that but i can feel his worry leaking into me.

Then i saw her as beautiful as the day we made that promise, regret overcame me remembering i left her as well and my entire family in Dicathen but then another emotion took its place; confusion. Why was she here in Alacrya? Why did she go with Nico? But the question that i'm burning to know is why did she do those things on the night of Elenoirs destruction?

So many other questions were getting their way inside my head but before i even realised she was standing right in front of me, i wanted to speak yet i couldn't muster up the strength to do so. I want to know the answer yet i'm scared to hear it. I didn't say anything i just stared at her. Her emerald eyes piercing me, i was going move closer, i was going say something however she said something first "who are you?".

Regret overcame me, regret for not being with her, regret for leaving. I wanted to know everything, Why she doesn't know who i am, why she attacked Elenoir, why she seemed so close to Nico; it hit me. Nico. She's like Nico, Elijah was close to me and underwent a sudden change into my old friend Nico. I understood it all she's not the Tess i knew. She's somebody i knew very long ago, she's Cecilia.

"It all makes sense now" i said as if reassuring myself, i said it aloud something i wish i hadn't done. She gave me a confused look but didn't say anything further. Regis' worry leaked into me even more as he said 'Have you finally understood whats happening with her' he said trying to calm me however it didn't work my anger came out and i accidentally released a wave a bloodlust that went as quickly as it came. She took a stance which i recognised, the same stance she used on that day i killed her. That just confirmed it, she is Cecilia.

I was taken out of my thoughts when the silver haired girl i once knew spoke "who are you?" She repeated her initial statement but this time with a more intimidating voice. She remained in her stance eagerly waiting for my attack; none came i simply started walking away while saying "nobody" however it gave away my sadness a lot more than i wanted. As it came out in no more than a whisper.

A/N- This was my first fanfic that i wrote all the way back in september, it was rushed and hard to read so now that im coming back to writing i decided to change some things i rewrote this chapter and im gonna rewrite the rest the plot will be the same and i only plan to make it more understandable and calm the pace down a little bit i plan to start making new chapters once the rest of the parts are edited.
