Now why does this relate to the Steve Saga, you're wondering.
Well.. As you know, Illusion Steve was created by Galaxy to make sense of the world. So chances are, Illusion was given a strong will to understand and chase knowledge.
We see that most in the Reality arc, with him freaking out after stealing Sabre's account in pursuit of knowledge about Sabre.
Illusion Steve fell into Eldritch madness because of Sabre..
(Warning: spoilers for season 2, with Illusion and stuff)
Illusion likely originally was looking through Galaxy's memories while he was out of the timeline. He probably saw instances of Sabre referring to us or him telling Galaxy about our world, or even Sabre logging off.
So he got curious and escaped when Sabre and Time left, and then fell deep into solving the mystery of what he saw.
That was the start of the madness.. If he had looked into Sabre's memories for info on Rainbow Steve, then he must've seen the times where Rainbow and Sabre went onto different servers..
That would have led to what he did for the rest of the arc, with using Galaxy as a resource for memories.
So when he became Reality, he was already getting close to being that ant that suddenly was a human, and knew human things.
But when he stole Sabre's account? That was the final moment where the madness set in.
It's obvious that Reality's mental health took a turn for the worse when he logged off. He went through a very traumatic situation.
But it isn't just that he's traumatized; he went mad because he pursued knowledge he didn't fully understand.
Reality/Illusion's corrupted mind and deteriorating mental state is a direct result of seeing things as if he were a player.. Of seeing the strange shapes in the circuit board and piecing them together until the moment he saw things as they were.
But I have something even stranger on my mind.
If this could possibly be true.. Would this mean Sabre is essentially an Eldritch entity hiding as a human in the Steve Saga canon? Well I mean, if we pretend season 2 is still canon lol.
Because Sabre is in our world, using his Minecraft character to interact with the Steves. Like an impossible-to-comprehend supernatural creature pretending to be human here in our world..
And if that is true, then according to this train of thought, we are an Eldritch race that watches the Steves from our world.
Man my thought process is wild. Did not expect to go down this weird of a rabbit hole today..
