The smell of salty fries and oily burgers. Anyone would love it unless they were heading into their second day of work at McDonald's.
"Finally! You take fo'eve'!" Tyrone wailed
"Yea."
"It's yo turn to clean the ice cream machine."
"What? I don't even know how to use it."
"Oh well."
Raquel rolled her eyes so far she was surprised she didn't see her brain. The stupid ice cream machine. How could they make her do this? That thing smelled like soured milk from the prehistoric era. One look and she wanted to puke. It was covered in chunky liquid. It was brown, white, and green! A layer of green coated the liquid.
"What am I supposed to do?" Raquel asked, glancing at Teresa.
"You take it outside. To tha hose."
WHAM! The back door smacked the outside of the building. Raquel found herself standing in front of the drive-through menu. She grabbed the hose and began spraying down the bottom tray of the machine. Disgusted faces stared at her through car windows. She didn't care. She was almost done. She just wanted to go back inside.
"Hey-uh-Teresa, what'm I supposed to do with the resta the machine." Raquel asked Teresa who was smacking gum.
"Nothin'. SMACK! You just leave it. SMACK! Ain't nobody got timta clean it."
"Oh-yea." Raquel managed to squeeze out. She knew she would never eat another McDonald's ice cream.
"Hey, How's ma favorite employee?" Usnavi said, reaching out his arm for their handshake.
"Goo-Well, bad." Replied Raquel, showing her dairy-covered hands.
"Oh, it's yo turn to cook the buns and fries."
"Ok, thanks."
Raquel felt that time passed quickly when cooking fries. She decided that it was the sound. Not as loud or demanding as the nuggets. But not so quiet that you feel lonely and bored. Finally, her shift was almost over. Just twenty minutes left. Nothing could go wrong.
