It was a sunny and bright day at first, but then the storm clouds rolled in out of nowhere. Sixteen year old Xael was staring at the sky as her best-friends Ivana and Fleur walked into her backyard. Not knowing what they were at her house for, she questioned them. You see, they all had a weird friendship, they all knew the deepest, darkest secret of each friend, at least that’s what they thought. Each person had made something up so nothing bad would come their way, if someone ratted them out. They each had a horrible secret, and although they didn’t know, they all had the same secret. Xael, Ivana, and Fleur had all committed murder, although at different times, and in different ways, they had all committed the same crime. Xael had murdered her brother Thaddeus by drowning him in the local pool at midnight, Ivana murdered one of her best-friends, named Kaia, at the last school she attended by throwing her into the alligator-infested swamp, and Fleur had murdered her mother, Mireya. None of the girls knew, or had any idea, of the others’ secrets. Demarcus, Fleur’s boyfriend, was tall and strong, captain of the soccer team, had dark brown hair, and big blue eyes. He knew all three of the secrets, too. What nobody else knew, was that Demarcus had a secret of his own, and this secret might just get him killed.

After Xael had questioned Fleur and Ivana they went into Xael’s two-story yellow victorian-style home, and sat at the table. They were gossiping about school when Demarcus pulled into Xael’s driveway. They all stopped talking and looked at each other, perplexed.

“What’s HE doing here?” Ivana asked. She was wary of Demarcus since he always acted strange, and was trying to blackmail her with her secret. She had no idea how he had found out, but it couldn’t get out. Ivana had never despised someone so much, and she definitely didn’t like that Fleur was dating him. If only she could tell Fleur, but she couldn’t risk Fleur going to the police. There was nothing that Ivana could do, so she just had to deal with Demarcus for the time being.

“I have no idea! It’s nice of him to drop by, though. He hasn’t texted me all day, and he shouldn’t be driving when it’s about to hail, ethier!” Fleur was trying to act like she had nothing to do with it, but it was her that invited him over. He shouldn’t have gotten to Xael’s house so soon though, Fleur still needed to set some things up before he could come inside. She rushed outside before he could come into the house. She stopped him and started talking about their plan. “I’m not ready yet! I need you to stall them, and keep them outside for a little while so I can get everything in place. Just keep them occupied, with something, anything.”

As Demarcus was stalling them, Fleur set everything up. Demarcus ran inside for a moment, asking Fleur if she was ready, and she was. When Xael walked into the house, it was all dark. She couldn’t see her hand in front of her face. Suddenly she felt a piece of fabric over her eyes and a hand around her mouth. She never knew what happened next. Ivana on the other hand, knew what was going to happen and took the precaution to grab her pocket knife before she walked inside. What she didn’t know was that Demarcus had snuck the knife out of her back pocket, so Fleur could grab her. No one would believe what happened next...
