I met 'the guy' , who-would-sweep-me-off-my-feet.
[UNEDITTED]
As I was late for the morning call, instead of taking stairs, I waited for the elevator in the lobby. I kept pressing the button; whoever crossed me at that time would have thought that I was button-maniac who thinks that regular pressing would bring the elevator straight to the ground floor.
I lost my patience and ran towards the stairs thinking waiting would only make me tenser. By the time I was in 4th floor, I felt tired and again made my way to the elevator lobby and continued being a button-maniac. 'Finally' I sighed as the door of the elevator opened. I took a quick look inside the elevator to note who/how many where there in that temporary prison.
I totally forgot that I was in a hurry and checked-out him, who was the only person in the elevator with my mouth open. He was tall, taned pale skin, manly with you-can-trust-me-brown eyes. When the door of the elevator was about to close, he signaled me to get in. I understood that he was asking me to get in but my legs failed to move and I stood there like a statue, holding my breath. Oh! And with my mouth wide open. Before the door closed, I noticed that he smirked at me after witnessing my stupid-not-so-matured-behavior in a sulking way.
'Shit!' I muttered, turned my right and found a girl staring at me; it looked more like she was trying to burn me down. I gave her a smile which would have obviously portrayed Charlie's smile after getting caught by cheating on one of his girl-friend in 'two and half men' show; except the fact that I never had a boy-friend.
I started walking slowly and sadly like a kid who-lost-his-favorite-new-toy. When I reached my ODC, I saw him waiting near the door, standing against the wall with ear-phone plugged. He was skimming through his i-phone and solemnly smiled on reading something. He suddenly raised his head and gave me a what-are-you-looking-at look. I suddenly glanced away and stood there without moving, well just like before my legs failed me. He smiled and asked something in sign language. I felt agitated and walked past him and placed my access card for the glass door to open. He thanked me and entered 'my' ODC-the-temporary-zoo-covered-with-glass.
My mind started rewinding the scene that took place where he asked me something in sign language and understood that he asked for the access to enter the ODC. I scolded myself for not understanding his sign language and wondered why he was talking to me in that way, but he looked extra cute when he did that. I smiled and walked to my seat.
I got scolded for being late and well trust me, I forgot about him as I got indulged in work. When I was about to move for lunch, I saw him again near the door, waiting for the access. For the first time in my IT life, I felt like I wanted to thank the person who made this place secure and also prayed that he (the guy whom I was mindlessly gawking at) shouldn't get the access card at least for the near future.
He smirked at me and I noticed for the first time that he has got dimple on his right cheek. I returned him a half-smile and swiped my access and went past him and waited for the elevator. He came and stood next to me in the elevator lobby, without paying much attention to me. While he was skimming through his mobile I took a good look at him; well he looked fit under those formal shirt like he spends hours in gym every single day, yet he looked boyish in an unknown way.
After getting into the elevator, he said 'nice one' pointing at my wallet. I gave him a smile after processing what he said in my mind and thanked him. He muttered something in husky tone that I failed to catch or was I just exaggerating it to myself. I rolled my eyes at that thought.
'Am new to this branch' he said in gentle tone, making me come out of my thought. I looked at him little confused, without knowing what exactly he is trying to say.
'As we will be seeing each other on daily basis, let's get to know each other and be mmm...' he paused for few seconds and then continued 'say friends???'
I gasped for breath and asked, 'Uh?' with my eyes wide-opened.
He looked at me and waited for my reply with a smirk on his lips.
