Chapter 35

As I arrived at Starbucks, I saw Lauren waiting on me. We both exited our vehicles and made our way inside. We got in line and walked right up front to order.

"May I please have an iced white mocha and a cake pop?"

The lady started to ring me up, so commented, "and whatever she wants as well."

"Kenz, you don't have to do that."

"It's not a problem, just order anything."

After Lauren ordered, I paid, we grabbed our things and went to find a seat.

"You have to tell me all about getting the house key, girl. That is a big deal!"

I blushed thinking about it again.

"So he gave me the sweatshirt first and told me to try it on and reach into the pocket. That is when I pulled out the key. He told me it was for while he was gone, and I might need it when he gets back for if I move in with him."

"Girl, that was so smooth! I can't believe that. I am so happy for you."

"Thank you, friend. I really want to, so that is the plan."

We sat and sipped our coffee for about an hour before we decided where we wanted to go shopping. Lauren said there was a mall nearby, so we decided to just take Dylan's car and go there, since it was not too far away.

Lauren and I hurried into the mall and started shopping. The first place we went into was a home furniture store. I saw a very nice side table that would go well in the bedroom.

"Laur, what's your thoughts on this?"

"Ok, that is perfect. You have to get it!"

We loaded it into the cart and continued shopping. As we continued to shop around, I came across the perfect thing.

"Lauren, I have to get this," I said, holding up a plate that was identical to the one I dropped and broke at Dylan's house. I then explained the story to her, and she laughed.

"Yes, you definitely have to get that!"

I came across a few small plant décor that I grabbed, as well as a couple of throw blankets. Feeling accomplished, we got in line to pay. I pulled out my phone to use Apple Pay when I saw my balance. My eyes got wide. I clicked on the balance and then everything made sense.

"Lauren, I am going to kill Dylan." I turned my phone around and showed her how he had added an ungodly amount to my card.

She laughed and responded, "That sounds like something Dylan would do. But you know what is funnier? Nolan gave me this to give to you as another surprise."

I looked at what she had in her hand. It was a credit card with "Arenado" on the name part.

I rolled my eyes and refused to take it.

"No, you have to, I promised Nolan! He said to tell you he made it made specially for you. He has his, and now you have one too."

"Lauren, I feel awful taking that. I don't want to use Nolan for his money."

"Girl, it's ok. He would not be going out of his way to do this is he thought you were using him."

"Yeah, I guess you are right, but I will kill both of them."

We just laughed and, against my better judgement, I paid for my things with Nolan's card. I also made a mental note to text the guys and thank them. After we paid, we went ahead and loaded everything in the trunk of the car.
