Awakening

A couple days ago the small feline started showing signs of waking up, Six estimated that she might wake up today but it was pretty likely that he might be wrong. It's not like he had a degree in medical science so he wouldn't be surprised if he was wrong.

'Nothin yet,' Six sighed. As he went on to walk out of the room he heard some groaning and shuffling behind him.

'Yeah that seems about right.' Six thought to himself before he walked towards her.

"Woah, easy there, easy." He said as he put his hand on her shoulder to help her sit upright.

She looked at him in confusion and Six took it as his opportunity to tell her what she missed in her little nap. "You've been out cold for a couple of days now. Why don't you just relax a second? Get your bearings and all that."

She nodded and seemed to focus on something for a while before Six got bored and took her out of it before she got lost in her own mind. "Let's see what the damage is."

He thought for a moment before thinking of a question to ask her. "How about your name? Can you tell me your name?"

She answered in a small voice, "Rosmontis... I think." She seemed unsure of it but hey at least he could call her something other than feline right?

"Huh. Can't say that's what I'd have picked for ya but if that's your name, that's your name." Then again he'd probably name her something stupid like Cattus so it was probably for the best.

Six shook that thought away with a smile. "Anyways," He took her attention, giving a mock salute before introducing himself with a lazy smile. "Name's Six. Welcome to Newsprings."

Rosmontis was currently laying back down in the bed she woke up from.

She was alone in the place since her doctor, apparently named a number but she wouldn't judge, had to go do something outside.

She was still too injured to move much so all she could do was lay down and think. Six said he just had to go get something and that he'd be right back so Rosmontis just waited.

Her brain felt all jumbled up and her memories felt fractured so she tried to distract herself with what was in the room.

Other than her bed there seemed to be medical supplies on the table near her, probably what he used to help her, she'd have to thank him for that later. There was also a desk with what appeared to be a book on it.

Wanting something to do, she tried to stand up and get the book but she forgot she was injured and instead just awkwardly shuffled.

Wanting a distraction from her thoughts and not wanting to give up however, she imagined a hand floating and taking it to give it to her. Feeling something weird, she opened her eyes to see a hand doing just that.

She was so shocked at it happening that her concentration broke and the hand fizzled away and the book fell to the floor with a thud.

Rosmontis, taking a moment to realign herself, tried again.

The hand came back and picked up the book and slowly gave it to her.

She looked at the title of the book and it said,

"A Nobody's nameless friend"

She looked at the cover and saw a girl wandering around a desert of some sort, after getting a good look, Rosmontis opened the book and started reading.

She only stopped when she heard the voice of someone.

"Havin a nice time readin?" Six stood there with an enigmatic smile.

--

When Six got back he didn't expect to see Rosmontis with a book in her hands, especially not a book about a wasteland story that was clearly once on the other side of the room.

"Havin a nice time readin?" Six smiled, it was nice to see the feline awake and not just stuck in a coma.

'Is this what Doc Mitchell felt like once I woke up?'

She had that shocked cat face and slowly put the book under her pillow. Clearly not knowing what to do in the current situation.

"You can continue reading if you want. I'll be cooking up some food now, you okay with Yao Guai- bear meat?" Six cut himself off before realizing that Yao Guai probably didn't mean anything to her and that he ended up just looking stupid.

'Wow I'm getting soft aren't I?'

Rosmontis didn't seem to notice and instead nodded, showing she was okay with it.

Six left the room and into the kitchen and started preparing the materials.

'Soft I may be becoming but I at least know how to cook.'

And so starts a brand new adventure.

Author's note: And so it begins. I'll probably go work on Nameless' nameless friend (NNF) after this on Luna's account but if this story does good I'll probably upload a few chapters of this before going back and doing more chapters for NNF. Anyways, I.S out.
