The beeping of my alarm clock was driving me crazy as I try to turn off without opening my eyes. I sigh at the thought of getting up and getting ready for school. I get up anyway because I don’t want my mom to walk into my room to scream at me. I had no motivation even though today was the first day of school. The only thing I was excited about was to find out who was going to be on the cross country team this year. I pick out my outfit it was only a shirt I got from states last year and light blue skinny jeans. I wasn’t trying to impress anyone and I was really lazy to put together something nice. I went to my dresser and put my hair in a ponytail and then put on my Maryland flag head band. I took a look in the mirror and sighed I am now a sophomore I remember kindergarten like it was yesterday. I went down stairs to find mom running around the kitchen packing lunches for her kids.
“Good morning Serena” she said as she shoved apple slices in a plastic bag
“Morning mom. Morning dad” I said as I took a seat next to my little sister
“You girls excited” my dad said while he was flipping pancakes
“Yes daddy” my little sister Katerina said
“Sure” I said
“Were is Adelaide” my mom asked as she packed the last things in our lunch
“She’s afraid” said Katerina
I looked at the time 6:40 shoot I had to go
“bye guys” I said as I made my way to get my book bag and my athletic bag
