Acadia mystery

𝓐𝓬𝓪𝓭𝓲𝓪 𝓶𝔂𝓼𝓽𝓮𝓻𝔂

Unable to sleep Jack thinks about what has happened it the past week and how he and Lina haven't talked since, but tomorrow that will change, He and Madi will go to Lina's house and make it up with her, maybe bring a few gifts as well. Despite the horrible things all 3 of them said to each other  Jack still cared about her and wanted to make sure that Lina was okay, especially since no one, not even her own sister, had heard from her for the past week. 

Meanwhile Madi was practically pulling her hair out about tomorrow, she still despised Lina from the argument and wasn't ready to go to her house, why did she even agree to this meeting?  But she did find it strange that no one had checked up on her in the past week and there was no way of changing Jack's mind so why bother?

𝒯𝒽𝑒 𝓃𝑒𝓍𝓉 𝒹𝒶𝓎 

Walking up to her house Jack replayed the whole thing in his head, how Lina protested to neglecting her snake and how it was Jack's fault, how Madi had isolated Jack from her and how her own sister questioned if she was okay but his thoughts stopped when he saw her house. Lina always brought joy and her house was normally a beacon of light but now it looked dull, plain and faded into the woodlands behind. The front gate was unlocked and the path leading was messy, normally Lina was proud of her Garden and cared for it daily but it looked like it wasn't touched.

"Man... Lina must be really screwed over from this fight..." sighed Jack

"Are you sure we should go in? I mean she probably still hates me so like.... we can just go get ice cream or something" Madi grumbled brushing a bug off her sleeve 

"No! I told you yesterday we are going! You and Lina need to be friends again, I want this whole petty fighting to be over!" Cried Jack dragging Madi by arm. Jack let go of Madi and knocked on the door but no answer, Jack rang the doorbell, no answer. Thinking of what to do next he leaned on the door and almost fell to the ground

"Oh... it's unlocked...strange...." Jack mumbled walking inside looking for any sign of his friend

"Lina? It us! Jack and Madi!" Jack paused waiting for a response "We want to apologize" still no response

"Ugh that snake never answers come on lets leave!"

"Madi quit it! Let's go upstairs."

They both creeped up the stairs trying to avoid the creaking floor boards and headed to Lina's bedroom when a strange smell stopped them in their tracks. It was rotten like a pig had died right where they were standing. Jack now curious wanted to know what that smell was knocked on her door but again there was no answer. Worried to his stomach broke into her room, lying in a pool of red thick dried blood was his friend not responding, not moving, dead. Lina was dead.
