Thesis: In Ordinary People Conrad's Progress shows us that saddness is a bleak and dark thing, but sadness doesn't last forever. You eventually find your light.
Sitting, just sitting
Darkness looms within
Escape, escape, need an escape
Testing, only testing
Tension of skin
Sharpness of blade
Feeling, no feeling
Arms and legs numb
Drawing blade down
A deep verticle cut
Blood bubbles, bubbles up like a river
Warmth, warmth and color flood the room
Free, free at last
Escape, escape from reality
Comforted, I am comforted
No more sadness, no more
Darkness, time, lost track of time
Falling, falling into darkness
Sleeping, just sleeping

Eyes open, eyes open wide
Why am I awake?

When all I wanted to do was die
It surrounds me, darkness sourrounds me
Like a thin, scratchy wool blanket
Uncomfortable and painful
I cannot see 4 feet in front of me

The dark is meancing, it terrifies me
