Thesis: In Ordinary People Conrad's Progress shows us that saddness is a bleak and dark thing, but sadness doesn't last forever. You eventually find your light.
Sitting, just sitting
Darkness looms within
Escape, escape, need an escape
Testing, only testing
Tension of skin
Sharpness of blade
Feeling, no feeling
Arms and legs numb
Drawing blade down
A deep verticle cut
Blood bubbles, bubbles up like a riverWarmth, warmth and color flood the room
Free, free at last
Escape, escape from reality
Comforted, I am comforted
No more sadness, no more
Darkness, time, lost track of time
Falling, falling into darkness
Sleeping, just sleepingAwake, I'm awake
Eyes open, eyes open wide
Why am I awake?
Survived, I survived
Why? Why? Why
When all I wanted to do was dieIt surrounds me, darkness sourrounds me
Like a thin, scratchy wool blanket
Uncomfortable and painful
I cannot see 4 feet in front of me
Out, I cannot find a way out
I need a way outLight, where is the light?
Where can I find it? How?
Light is warm and bright
Lights up life, even in the darkest nights
Jeannine, lights up my life, even in my darkest nights
Warmth, she is my warmth
Security, she is my security
Home, she is home
Heart, she holds mine in her hand
Don't break it, for it is fragile and frail
Go? Please don't go
Don't leave me here in the dark
The dark is meancing, it terrifies me
I cannot face these monsters aloneThere are too many
Too many monsters
Too many skeletons
Too many dark places
Too many thoughts
Too many memories
It does not hurt to remember
Not like it used to
I have come to realise
That I will be just fine
As long as you stay
By my side my love
Will you stay?
