Chloe trudged back to Rose's house to pack up her belonging's. She arrived and knocked on the chipped white door, Rose opened the door and wrapped her arms around Chloe enveloping her into a warm grasp.

Chloe and Rose had been friends since they started school, Rose could still vividly remember what happened when they had first meet. Rose had been sitting under a small peach tree eating an apple, Chloe skipped over to her, golden curls bouncing daintily on her floral summer frock. Chloe sat down next to Rose and offered her one of her mothers chocolate chip cookies, they sat quietly nibbling the biscuits, Rose started a conversation and by the end of the lunch break the two girls were happily laughing together. Then they walked home together, and from then on they have been very close friends.

Rose was the only one who knew Chloe's secret and the pair wanted to keep it that way. Rose went into the kitchen and came back with to mugs of tea and a plate with fresh baked muffins, soft and warm. Chloe sipped her tea and poked at her muffin the two girls had nothing to say. Rose looked up at Chloe, her green eyes sparkled and her freshly washed brown curls were pinned back neatly with two bobbie pins. Chloe stood up suddenly
"Rose I'm just going to lie down" she sighed
"Alright" Rose replied
Chloe and Rose were both 17 and going to the same school, Rose owned a small cottage which she had brought with her own saved wages. Rose's family were very supportive of her, Rose was studying medicine and midwifery (these skills had truly come in handy for Chloe). The two close friends lived on the same street and treated each other like sisters. They had so much in common, same hobbies, likes and dislikes, the only difference was their parents. Rose's parents were kind and helpful, where as Chloe's parents were stressed and tired. The reason for this was because Chloe's family consisted of 6 children, Timothy, Chloe, Penny, Johnny, Lola and Betty. Her parents looked older than they were because two years ago Timothy had passed away, Timothy was earning most of the money for the family so after that they all expected Chloe to step up and pull out of school to support the family. But Chloe refused and they started struggling to live on just her fathers money.

The sun started sinking behind the hills and Chloe thanked Rose very much. Chloe started walking back to her own home as slow as possible. She turned down the path up to the house number 23, the houses lights shone dimly through the lace curtains, the egg shell blue paint was peeling revealing the off creamy colour underneath. Chloe dragged herself to the door and reached for the rusty door knob, but the door knob turned on it's own. Chloe braced herself, her mothers strong arms shot out grabbing her by the ear dragging her inside.
"WHERE THE HELL HAVE YOU BEEN, YOU THINK YOU CAN JUST WONDER OFF FOR THREE DAYS WITHOUT SAYING ANYTHING, FOR GOD SAKE GIRL GO TO YOUR ROOM AND I WILL BE HEARING EXACTLY WHERE YOU HAVE BEEN!!!" Screamed her mother. Chloe slunk to her room, what would she tell her mother.....
