Raised in isolated town of Nohuere by his writer-mother, Harry Styles is oblivious to the realities of the urban world. And the black and white law of the writing that he has been raised on is no longer sufficient when the home-schooled 16-year-old enters public secondary school for the first time and encounters psychological warfare and unwritten social rules that teenage boys face today.

"Do you have you lunch with you?" Mum called through the open door way as I fidgeted on the front steps of my new house. The autumn air chilled my skin and a slight cloud of frigid moisture formed by my mouth as I informed her that I did in fact still have my lunch in my back pack for the fourth time. "I'm sorry sweetie," Mum cooed as she appeared on the other side of the doorway, "I just want you to have a perfect first day of high school." She looked sickeningly sweet as she fumbled with my jacket zipper and pulled it up towards my chin. "It's cold outside, hunny."

"Mum!" I exclaimed as I pulled my zipper back down, "I'll be fine! I'm not cold." I shoved my freezing hands in my pockets and tried my best to look perfectly confident in order to mask my unbearable nervousness that racked my brain. This was my first day of school. Ever. Yeah, I know that usually happens when a kid is like five or something and not sixteen, but I've been homeschool since I was a kid. Yeah, I know what you're thinking... homeschooled kids are freaks or really religious.

But, my family is pretty normal. I mean, I think we are... my mum is a writer and we've spent my whole life living in a small town up north with no neighbors around and only a couple barnyard cats to keep my company. My mum always said she liked to solitude of a little home out in the woods like that, but I think it was really because she needed to get away from everything. My parents split when I was really little, but mum has a new boyfriend now and he's really great. I just wish he hadn't packed up my whole life and moved me and my mum from our quiet town, Noheure, to this place. It's different around here, not really in a bad way. It's just different.

Suddenly, I heard the humming motor of the huge yellow bus that will take me to the torture chamber, I mean 'school' and I was snapped away from my thoughts. I looked up at mum who was staring at me with watery eyes and she pulled me in for a tight hug. "Have a wonderful day, baby, make lots and lots of friends and come home safe." She whispered into my ear and ruffled my hair.

I struggled out of her tight embrace and groaned, "Mum, I'm going to be fine. You're embarrassing me." I eyed the bus that pulled up in front of the house and could practically imagine all the people laughing at the new kid whose mum had to kiss him goodbye. Mum sniffled as I pulled my back pack over my shoulder and raced across the green lawn and onto the waiting bus.

"Hi!" I said smiling widely as I stuck my hand out towards the  boy sitting in the front row of my homeroom class. "I'm Harry Styles, the new student here." I made a serious effort to keep a strangled smile on my face as he looked up from the book he was thick reading on his desk.

"Fuck off." He said bluntly and nonchalantly flipped the page of his novel and began to read again. I stood their in horror until I realized he was probably just messing around.
