"You know if a porcelain plate breaks, you can never return it to its original form. Even though you would glue it together." Tendou mumbles.
It's an early morning Friday and the sun is about to blaze. Tendou saw Shirabu on an alley heading his way to Shiratorizawa. The two boys walk in silence but the redhead desperately yearns to start a conversation. As a result, he accidentally said few words that hit some nerves of the copper head.
Shirabu tightens his grasp to the sling of his gym bag not peeking at the taller guy beside him.
He couldn't sleep last night speculating about the current situation, his current situation, their current situation. He merely had 4 hours of sleep and now he got puffy eyes which made his eyes unusually narrow.
Shirabu feels like he's missing some important details. He asks himself 'why?'.
Why did Semi reacted that way? Is there something bigger justification behind it?
He also asks 'what'?
What could be Semi's reasons why he said that hurtful and intolerable words towards him?
"W-was I wrong?" Shirabu asks suddenly.
Tendou stays silent, humming a western song that the smaller boy barely recognizes. The redhead continues to walk which makes Shirabu follows him at a faster pace.
"But you know, things can be resolved and fixed if you two will admit your mistakes." Tendou grins and looks down at the second year.
Shirabu suddenly looks away and coughs. The thought of apologizing and making up with Semi never crossed his mind. It's like a taboo to him.
"Tendou-san, I don't think I can do that," he said in a low but husky voice. His natural raspy voice got awful because of lack of sleep.
"Oh? But I didn't say that you must do it," Tendou twitches his eyebrows while still arching his back down to level his height with Shirabu.
Shirabu clicks his tongue in irritation. He respects his upperclassman but when Tendou starts to tease him, he can't tolerate it. He doesn't have enough patience to handle such teasing.
Shirabu can now spot the large gate of Shiratorizawa when he answered his senpai.
"Tendou-san, I won't do tha—"Tendou and Shirabu abruptly stop walking. Right in front of the gate are Ushijima and Semi who are about to enter the school. The four boys just gaze at each other as if they didn't recognize each of them. Ushijima latches his eyes on Tendou, with curiosity. It's as if he is questioning what did Tendou and Shirabu talked about or did they talked about fixing the current situation.
Semi, on the other hand, caressing his ash blonde hair with his fingers, looks instantly to the smaller boy beside Tendou.
Semi saw how the just-risen sun shines softly on the copperhead setter's face illuminating a golden color. Everything in the street brightens, just like how Semi's mood does when he saw the sight of the second-year setter.
Feels like Semi is lost with the smaller setter's stunning brown eyes.
Stunning?
"Oi... Practice will start soon. Why are you guys still here..." A yawning Taichi appears and walks past the four players. He bows his head to the three third years and waves his hand towards Shirabu, then he presides his way to the gym.
A delicate scream from the redhead breaks the silence.
"Wakatoshi-kun!" The awkward atmosphere suddenly disappears when Tendou happily lifts his arms up and swaying his body while walking towards where Ushijima is standing.
The ace and the middle blocker finally enters the school. Tendou is talking about some random stories to which Ushijima silently listens.
The two setters are still standing in front of the gate. However, they both flinch when Tendou called their names.

Hell week in Shiratorizawa hastily came. All students are studying hard, writing notes, reading books making sure that when Thursday and Friday came, they will eventually pass all of the exams.
Throughout the whole week, Semi and the other third years are hanging out under a sakura tree near the volleyball gym to conduct group study.
The second years can be spotted on the rooftop of their building every lunchtime.
Also, the first years just stay in their classroom to read their books and notes.

Examinations eventually ended up with flying colors.
The volleyball team gather up at the gym later that Friday afternoon. Exhaustion can be seen all over each other's faces. Goshiki enters the gym while whistling as if he didn't take the exam. He is holding a black pair of scissors that is hooked on his pointer finger and his left arm is wrapped around Shirabu's neck. Of course, there's this visible scowl on the copperhead's face.Semi enters after, hugging his gym bag tightly on his chest. Behind him is Tendou humming an unrecognizable song while his arms are placed on the back of his head.
The last one to enter is Ushijima Wakatoshi.
After a two-hour drills and personal practices, Ushijima instructs all of his teammates to gather around, which is unusual. He never did this kind of thing, especially during normal practice days.
So for Tendou, maybe there's something wrong or maybe there's something big news. He can't point out which is which. Tendou gives his full attention to the ace standing in front as he clears his throat.
"Uh... First things first, well exams are already done and we are all exhausted. And we need somewhat a refreshment," Ushijima silently coughs. The team stays silent for a while letting the captain continue his piece.
Ushijima roams his gaze towards every pair of eyes that are staring at him right now before he continues, "Well we just renovated our pool at home and my mom says we can try it out."
The gym is still in silence. Ushijima, who is glowing a slight red, clears his throat unconsciously.
"And I'm inviting you all for a pool party tomorrow night."
