taehyung bit his lip and tried his best to lightly open the backdoor to jisoo's house. he heard the lull of the tv from the living room. jisoo always liked having something in the background while she studied.he took of his slippers and scanned the kitchen for his sweater. the boy spotted it by strewn about on one of the dining chairs. when he walked by to get it, he saw a giant textbook on the table along with an open letter. his eyes grazed over both items, filled with curiosity, and saw certain words like 'transfer', 'requirements', and 'spring'. suddenly, full of fire, he reached for the letter and read over it.
He whispered the words to himself as he read. "dear kim jisoo, these are the textbook requirements you will need to have a successful transfer to our campus in the spring..." it proceeded to list a lot of books involving medicine. taehyung was shocked, and quickly enough, that shock turned into anger.
"hey, did you find your sweater?" jisoo said nonchalantly. she was going into the kitchen to get some juice but stopped in her tracks as soon as she saw the boy standing by the table reading the mail she left there earlier.
taehyung slowly looked back at his friend, his eyebrows pinched together. "what the fuck, jisoo?" he said in a monotone voice. his low brassy voice carried throughout the kitchen.
the girl stayed silent and taehyung's anger brewed further. "were you going to tell me?" he moved so that his body was facing his friend.
jisoo could tell he was mad. honestly, she couldn't blame him. she was an asshole for keeping this from him. she shook in her place. "i was waiting for the right time." she squeaked, not looking him in the eye.
"when?" jisoo could have sworn there was a pinch of sadness in that one. "the day before you boarded the bus?" if there was melancholy before, it was gone, completely gone.
"i'm sorry-" suddenly, she felt a lump form in her throat and her eyes warm up. jisoo quickly reminds herself that she can't, that she won't cry.
"fuck that!" taehyung growls. "this is bullshit! i thought i was your best friend, huh?! doesn't that mean i'm supposed to be the first one you tell about this kind of shit?" he yelled, flailing his arms around and pointing to the letter back and forth. jisoo had never seen her best friend this mad before.
he places his hands on his hips, clenching his jaw. "who else knew, hm?" he seethed. "the guys?"
jisoo quickly shook her head. "no, just the girls." she didn't know if that made things any better but taehyung wasn't yelling anymore so-
"this is crazy." he laughed sarcastically. "i mean, jesus, you felt comfortable to keep this giant thing from me? what does that say about us? about you?"
jisoo couldn't answer him.
"this is bullshit." he whispered, looking at the ground. "you're bullshit." he said finally, looking straight through jisoo.
the pair stood there for another breath of silence before taehyung quickly grabs his sweater and runs out, slamming the door going out back.
jisoo throws her head into her hands and sobs.
