Y/N's P.O.V.

"That's not my only theory! I have so many more!" Philip squealed. "Of course we'd love to hear them all Philly! But let's move onto scary stories instead." Larissa insisted, Philip gasped jumping up and down. "That's a brilliant idea! Y/N, why don't you start us off?" He begged as him and Larissa turned towards me. I noticed their smiles weaken a bit as they saw my blank stare out the window. "Here she goes again." Larissa sighed shaking me by the shoulders. "What did Philip say? You'll get a chance to talk to George tomorrow!" She said trying to lighten the mood. I weakly grinned at her.

"Right, but you two go ahead I only want to listen." I muttered, wrapping my blanket tighter around myself. Larissa eventually began a rant about how she swears she saw her dead grandmother at the foot of her bed once.

*Small Time Skip*

I felt the warmth from the sun kiss my face. It was truly comforting. That was...until Philips loud snoring echoed around the dorm. I chuckled, sitting up from my bed. I rubbed my eyes tiredly. Tomorrow is officially the day of the second task for the Triwizard Tournament. It was a random stray thought but it made me freeze in place. I wonder how last night went for Cedric and John. In fact, I should check up on them. I'm sure Philip and Larissa wouldn't mind if I put the sleepover on pause for an hour, but just to be kind I left a note explaining my absence. Slipping on my coat and gloves I made my way out the dorm.

Nearing the common room I easily recognized Neville's faint voice. "Should I wait to talk to her?" He asked. "Yes, give her time." Who I'm assuming is Seamus answered. I took a deep breath and walked down. Ignoring the two as I brushed past them. Their conversation stopped mid way as I felt their hard stares burning into the back of my head. As much as I longed to whip around and face Neville to say I was sorry, I ignored this desire. 'I had made the right decision for both of us.' I kept repeating in my head, yet still in the back of my mind was a small voice telling me to look.

Now, if I did...how would that make me feel? Sad? Angry? Guilty? I just need time...time to think. Another day or two should do it, I reassured myself. Hurriedly pushing open the Gryffindor common room I made my way to the Hufflepuff one. Passing a few friends along the way. One of them even stuck with me. "I've been wanting to pay a visit to Johnny anyways." William beamed, I chuckled. "I'm sure he missed you."
"Wait- really?!" He gasped, I smirked. "Of course. He talks about you all the time. You should give him a big hug when you see him. I'm sure he'll appreciate that very much." I exclaimed, watching Wills eyes water.

"No ones ever..missed me before." He whispered. I smiled, knocking the pattern on the Hufflepuff entrance barrels. It swung open letting us step inside. Sure enough the two bozos were sitting on a couch far back in the common room. We got a few stares considering William Lestrange had just entered the Hufflepuff room with a Gryffindor. "Ah there you are. I see you've brought Will with you. What's up mate?" Cedric greeted. Will waved before tackling John in a hug. "I MISSED YOU TOO!!" He yelled, John gave me a baffled look but I returned it with a death glare.

He immediately understood. "I-uh..yeah! I missed you so much mate." He spoke with satire. Will pulled away and sat practically smushed against John. "Well no need to be sad I'm here now." Will comforted, Cedric cleared his throat. "Right...so Mad-eye was correct! Turns out that the screeching sound was actually the sound of mermaids singing. When underwater their voices are clear and enchanting. The voice in the egg told me the next clue."
"Which is??" I pressed as I took off my coat and sat down in front of the three. "I wrote it down on a piece of parchment." He said pulling out a tiny note and handing it to me. I opened it and read what was inside.

'Come seek us where our voices sound. We cannot sing above the ground. An hour long you'll have to look, to recover what we took.'

"What the bloody hell does that mean?" I asked, handing the note back to my brother. "Well, we've been trying to figure that out all night. So far we know the next task is at the black lake, and we have an hour to look for something. I just don't know what we're looking for and how they expect me to hold my breath for an hour. Other than that I think we should tell Harry this as soon as we can. Has he found out what to do with the egg by now?" He questioned, I shook my head. "I don't think so." My brother frowned before getting up. "Well we should tell him right this instant am I wrong?"
"No, you're not." I agreed, getting up and sliding my coat back on.
