Don't let me go! (Cedric X Draco X Reader)

Chapter 4:

The day passed pretty slowly after you and Ced had parted ways. You weren't really paying any attention to professor Snape in potions and instead you stared at the clock with hawk eyes as the minutes slowly got less and less.

"Ringggggg". "Finally!" You gasped out loud when the bell rang to confirm the end of the lesson.
All at once 50 beady eyes turned to stare at you. Snape scowled looking unimpressed as usual.
You didn't mean to say that out loud.
What was just an hours class felt like a whole lifetime you were just happy to soon be reuniting with Cedric.

You gathered all your personal belongings and stuffed them into your school bag before charging out of the door and down the hallway. You pushed your way through the crowd of freshman where you finally found the courtyard entry.

There was a small frail stone bench that sat under a twisted willow tree at the end of the courtyard, (that was another one of your top secret spots.)
The courtyard wasn't a secret like the old astronomy tower was, it was a public area but it always seemed to be empty so you took the opportunity to call it your thinking space, a small patio of land to call your own.

It was a lovely view overlooking all of Hogwarts and fresh blue water surrounding us for miles.
It was so serene and the company was even better.

As you sat staring out to sea waiting for Cedric's arrival, a pair of hands covered your eyes.
"Guess who" a deep masculine voice commented from behind.

"Hmm how about a 6 foot tall Hufflepuff called Ced".

"Dammit your good" he replied, you chuckled at the disappointment in his tone.

"What you don't think I can sense my best friend?".

"No no you can it's just you always win at these games", "What can I say I'm a witch... literally".
You both hummed a slight tune of laughter while he took his place beside you on the bench.

You leaned your head onto his shoulder and told him all about potions. Obviously not the part where you thought about him the whole time or that you were considering him as more than a friend, just the usual gossip about pansy and Draco arguing in front of the class.

After your little childish rant was over about god knows what, you felt bad having to make him listen to you. He was always a good listener that was another thing about him that you loved. No matter how boring the topic was he was always actively listening and genuinely interested.
So just to be even you made him tell you all about his astronomy lesson.

You sat in silence for a few moments more sharing a bag of Bertie Botts every flavour beans before heading back to your next class.
You only had configurations left on your schedules then you were both done for the day.

You tried to come up with a plan of action for after configurations class but between the two of you, you couldn't think of anything to do.

It was still only your first week back so you were easing your way back into your intense routines and.
eventually you settled on a cozy movie night in your dorm room.

Usually students weren't aloud to be in or stay in a different teams house dorms unless it was there own but the rest of the Slytherins were pretty chilled about Ced sneaking in on a weekly basis so eventually they came to terms and allowed it. He was the only exception in Hogwarts and we we're keeping it under wraps.

Whilst you were in configurations together you secretly agreed to send your owls into the all-wizarding village of Hogsmeade to pick up a few essential things for later.
You had written down a list of much needed snacks and drinks for the owls to collect from honey dukes, And finally after MUCH debate you both decided on a very muggle chic-flick film called 'A Cinderella story!'.
It supposedly had great reviews amongst the other students who had smuggled it in from the muggle world and hidden it from the professors.

That was another great thing about Cedric, he always puts others first no matter what situation he has going on himself. I know that's not always the best thing for someone to do but he thrives on being a people pleaser so sometimes you just have to let him. (He also always sacrifices his own male pride in order to make you happy and watch all the cringey girly films you like if you ever need cheering up or even just a little bit of company.)

As soon as the bell rung and class had officially finished you both shot each other a cheesy smile from across the room before making your way to one another.
You spoke the whole way to Slytherins quarters about all the things that had happened throughout your first day return and how excited you both were for movie night later. You both loved nothing more than spending time with each other so you knew tonight was going to be good.

You got into your dorm as quickly as you possibly could and slammed the door shut loudly behind you. You threw your bags down on the floor into a pile and jumped onto your bed. You both lay there for a quick minute facing the ceiling, hands by your side.

You both turned your heads in unison to face one another. Silence filled the air but it wasn't awkward at all it was peaceful and happy like your 'friendship'.  The silence was never awkward between you two because you were so comfortable with each other and that's when things began to start. You stared into each other's eyes, still silent like before but this time your faces saying a thousand words it was almost like time was stood still.

In this freeze frame you hands were lying down by your sides and slowly started to drift closer towards each other's... so close they were almost touching.
Your pinkie finally made contact with his after dancing around the sheet and they locked together immediately like two lost souls that had been reunited. All this while still maintaining eye contact throughout, you thought things were going to progress further as there was a vibe now in the room but the air suddenly turned cold due to a breeze from the open window in the corner.

This woke you both up from your trance and time began to move again.

Now things were awkward for the first time!

"Umm haha, I'm going to change, like right now... ok byeee!" You choked out as if your brain couldn't keep up with the words coming out.
You shot up from your bed and ran to the bathroom before slamming the door shut and sliding down the wall. You sat with your head in between your knees contemplating your next move, you couldn't hide in the bathroom all evening.
"Pull yourself together Y/N" you said to yourself.
You needed to shake of this mindset and that's exactly what you did! You stood up and changed into your pjs, a small pair of emerald green satin shorts with a matching black crop top.
Not to revealing but enough for him to window shop. It was super cute but casual.

You splashed your face with water, reapplied some mascara then headed back out, Cedric stayed in the same position until you walked out.

"Oh damn Y/N, you look... wow".
That's all he managed to get out.

"Thanks" you giggled giving him a little twirl.

"So you wanna watch a movie then Ceddy bear?" You smirked.
He laughed at this new nickname and placed a hand in his hair, running it through.

"Yeah of course!" he replied.

"Great! Let's get started" you smiled.
